Tad Hasse Bowl Set for Thursday Night at Brownsville Public Library~Tax Assessor Write-In Candidate Forum

Brownsville Public Library, June 16 @ 6:30 PM.  Will Erasmo Castro show up?  Tad's plan is to make certain the voters SELECT the next tax assessor.  If indicted incumbent Tony Yzaguirre gets the most votes, then is convicted, the County Commissioner's Court will pick one of their political cronies for the job, likely David Betancourt.

Having only the single most popular write-in candidate on the ballot against Yzaguirre can prevent that.

  1. And who is going to the the other potential candidates that they can't or should not run? Sounds like someone wants to be King Maker.

    1. Nope. Straight unarguable mathematical logic, the people will tell them, not me.

    2. Mr. Hasse, are you expecting such a large turnout of voters to your forum that would make a difference in who is and who isn't worthy of running for the position. The only turn out you are going to receive is the supporters of those that have indicated their interest in running for the position. You are not going to get a large turnout of general voting population. Is it you that wants to make the determination as to who should run? Not your call, Mr. Hasse.

    4. Tad can do whatever Tad wants. At least he is getting involved and making an attempt to make people aware of the political process. He is sick of the cronyism that taints Cameron County politics. If you don't like Tad's efforts, don't go to the event, don't read about it, don't criticize it. I for one appreciate Tad's interest and support his efforts in attrmpting to educate the electorate and to hopefully put a stop to the voter apathy running rampant in our community.

  2. $100 days he will steer the conversation toward his friend Jessica Bradshaw.

  3. We've rejected quite a number of childish comments from this Duardo idiot, several telling Tad Hasse to "get a job!" Only an irrelevant outsider, with an axe to grind, would not know that Tad is a longtime City of Brownsville administrator. Ironically, we've heard that, it is Duardo, who has been unemployed for at least two decades, living off the largesse of relatives.

  4. Did Tad show any preferential treatment towards Jessica Puente Bradshaw? He stated from the beginning some of the declared write in candidates were friends, but any friendship would not have any influence on the forum's proceedings. He merely wanted the best candidate to be elected by the people of Cameron County and not appointed by some "committee".
