OP 10.33, Carlos Marin Finally Win One as Eddie Trevino Prevails for County Judge; Brownsville Loses

Eddie Trevino
In a slopfest of two unworthy candidates for County Judge, svelte Eddie Trevino overcame behemoth Dan Sanchez in Cameron County's May 24 runoff election.

The unethical, eleventh hour endorsement of Trevino by Democrat State Chair Gilberto Hinojosa was not enough to defeat Trevino, who had the backing of the mayor, inexperienced city commission and Carlos Marin's new best friend, Dallas car salesman Mike Hernandez III.  The political amateur from Dallas can finally pop the corks on one of the cases of cheap champagne ordered for his planned victory parties.

As a local political advocate, rediscovering prayer, explained:  "I prayed for Dan Sanchez to win because he's too dumb to steal."

Carlos Marin Plotting Strategy as Fred Rusteberg Departs
Eddie Trevino, the man who hoodwinked the City of Brownsville into paying real money, $900,000 of hard-earned taxpayer dollars for Carlos Marin's Imagine Brownsville Comprehensive Plan, now sitting on dusty shelves like a not-so-funny comic book, will now assume considerable influence over the development of two of Cameron County's most profitable entities, the Port of Brownsville and the FM 550 industrial corridor.

Hopefully, the bloggers will pay attention to the puppet strings moving Eddie's head and shoulders and the young city commissioners will take a quick course in Political Corruption 101.

  3. No matter how many times people cry about low voter turnout in Brownsville, this proves Brownsville is the strong house of our county.

It's that they are crooked Mexicans just like there are crooked gringos. This election is bad for not only Browntown but the entire Cameron County.

  8. The support of you, Montoya, or Cervantes may not have harmed nor helped Dan, but I feel that having erasmo Castro and mchale push for Dan cost him a lot of votes. I may not have agreed with you all in support of Dan but at least you, Montoya and Cervantes don't spew childish opinionated and often vulgar rants on people and their families(like Mchale). Like I said I often enjoying reading what you three say, but anything that comes from Castro or Mchale is the worst and ultimately I believe it cost Dan in the end.

    1. Nothing I've written could rightfully be characterized as support for Dan Sanchez or Eddie Trevino. My blog articles described both men as inferior candidates. Dan's obvious pandering, offering to pay for the unapproved portraits of Joe Rivera and Aurora de la Garza, then offering to give them raises by reducing his own commissioner salary. Eddie is closely associated with some of the communities worst leeches, United Brownsville et al.

    2. Don't forget Marco Longoria and Rigo Bocanegra's endorsement of Dan as well!!! I know people who are going to pay these groups to endorse their opponents. Captain Bob has more credibility than those clowns.

    3. Barton I spent time looking at past articles and you're right, you may not have been supporting them openly like Cervantes and Montoya, but I get the feeling you did vote for him... But I still believe that having certain bloggers support a candidate can be detrimental to their chances... Also throw in pat ahumada... Dan shot himself in the foot by allowing those clowns (along with bocanegra and longoria) to openly push for him.

  9. sanchez lost my vote when he shared a picture on Facebook together with Erin Hernandez and Ernie Hernandez in Dan sanchez T shirts supporting him at a beach fundraiser. Really Dan? Rubbing elbows with a former commissioner who resigned for corruption, arguably should be in prison, and the vote fraud queen. Everything that is wrong with Cameron county. Not impressed by sanchez singing si, si, si in Cameron Park, saying yes to everything the poor wanted to hear is he santo clos? Budgets don't exist anymore? Ugliness all around.

  11. To all critics of Mr. Jim Barton's blog posts/comments, you have three options:

    1) stop reading his blog,
    2) create your own blog,
    3) or THIS

    1. Actually, I've tried option 2 several times using various pseudonyms. I've even added fake comments to build interest.

What I don't understand is how this blog, written by a diseased cockroach like Barton has such a large readership, when my blogs, written by a real journalist never got any interest.

Maybe taco eaters don't like good food or good writing.

    2. Perhaps the underlying problem, dude from Kyle, is that you are boring. Your obsessions are boring. No one cares about Melissa zamora anymore, that lady married and moved away. No one cares about her "quivering nipples". You gross/creep people out. While you literally sleep on a park bench. Like any other crazy homeless guy wandering downtown, sleeping on benches, your opinions inspire a sense of creepiness. Your fake comments do not impress nor gain loyal readership.

      I love option 3. Hilarious!

I believe you answered your own question when you state ".....written by a real journalist never got any interest." You are boring whose comments or posts are just plain BORING, TASTELESS, DISRESPECTFUL, LACKING JOURNALISTIC SKILLS and DEGRADING of other people. Bottom line, you suck as a journalist.

Truth be told, you are what is considered an Internet Troll.

An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.

If I was to rate your comments I would rate it as total and complete THIS

This very moment, while you drive home from work, he is casing a yard, stealing a tip or looking for a shady spot to put his blanket down for the night. May God have mercy on his soul.

  14. Well with all that's circulating on that organization I don't blame her. This is all speculation and hearsay because I don't know her personally but with all that group has been hit with you can't really blame her. She's very by the book and allows no room for mistakes. The Republican Party is trying to uphold the values it stands for which is no room for corruption. Now I am not saying that's what the organization (10.33) is doing but that's what everyone thinks. So of course people want to disassociate themselves with possible threats later. Take the race of all these run offs for instance. You see the Democrats bashing eachother but you don't see the Republican race doing that. My point is I like how she has held this party together and made sure everything is civil. Can't blame her for wanting to care for the party on her watch.

You simply must believe that Carlos Marin knows what is best, give buckets of money to lil Oscar, believe that Juliet is a much maligned hispanic savior and that anything good that has happened here was due to the hard work and diligence of United Brownsville. Now that that has been said, get the hell out of here, you pus sucking poor excuse for a media spin director. Piss up a rope.

    4. I've met many Republicans and they are all Coutnry Club aristocratic Gringo snobs or self-hating Mexican racists like Mr. barrera. I'm glad we keep people like that out of the Democratic party. As a matter of fact, many of their standard bearers are failed Democrats who've taken their ball and gone home. Their only goal is their own self-importance and they do not have any vision except to make Cameron County like it was in the 1960s when redneck gringos ran the show. I'm glad I live in a Cameron County safe from redneck racists.

Choose a party and stick to it, lady. I, myself, am a loyal Democrat who believes in our community, protecting the environment and raising the minimum wage. I am not beholden to a disgraced ex-mayor because he signs my paychecks. Knowing that Morgan Graham is associated with Pat Ahumada and politiqueras like you tell me all about her character, or lack thereof.

  16. Anonymous 10:12 PM, you are obviously about Party and goes along to get along like sheep that are herded by their Sheppard and are very proud of it, without morals, or a compass on what is right and wrong, but a sheep that is easily fooled because you have no values of your own. I am a Democrat and have been since 2004, but I am not a sheep to be herded by people like Sylvia Perez, Mayor Tony Martinez, Joe Rivera, Eddie Trevino, Carlos Marin, Mike Hernandez, Otis Powers and all those who prey on people's willingness to be sheep for their own personal gain. They prove and you support the proven wrong doings against their fellow citizens in the name of the Democrat Party, while I prefer to err on the side of right and support fellow democrats who I believe stand for what is right.

I believe in God, in doing what is right, not hurting others, while you and those like you justify the wrong doings under a party banner. You drag me into your post when you have it all worn, I am not a Republican, have voted Democrat since 2004, do not use politiqueras, and I am not associated with Morgan Graham. If being disgraced by the former police chief Carlos Garcia, city manager Charlie Cabler and Pete Gonzalez who pushed for my conviction when they knew I never set foot in the Finance Department and did not take the check, but I was in their way and they found a way to ruin me politically, then I may be disgraced in your eyes, but in my Lords eyes I have never wavered and always tried to do what was right as mayor for the citizens. In comparison you laud these same people and all of you justify buying or stealing from taxpayers through their shady deals like the Casa Nylon, Tenaska, other real estate ventures, misappropriating monies for commissioners pet projects, goes to show you are mixed up in blasting Morgan, Dan Sanchez, me and others, because you do not want to face your self as someone who sells him or herself and hides behind the Democrat banner.

I do not believe the Democrat or Republican Party to be bad, it is the people like you that make the party look bad based on the ideals and principals, because we can disagree between parties, but there is honor in integrity and doing what is right in spite of differences, while you justify cheating, using politiqueras, buying and havesting votes like the mayor and Eddie Trevino, because that is the only way you all can win and with sheep like you that looks the other way when these people hurt our society with their special interest agenda in the name of protecting our environment, which I did and raising the minimum wage, which I did with the Living wage initiative at PUB and city. So, Anonymous 10:12 PM, the only individual here that can blame himself for the corruption in our community is yourself and the other sheep that goes along with the Carlos Marin and Mike Hernandez mentality to win at any cost.

Finally, even though I believe the Republican Party lost its way many years ago, I respect Morgan and republicans for their beliefs and they provide a choice and contribute to the debate. I am for Bernie Sanders and will vote for Hillary, but only because Donald Trump is out of touch with America in many aspects, but he has done some good. Donald has exposed the Republican Party in many ways that was known, but not publicly talked about. I faced their discrimination when I was a Republican and the bigotry some represent, which is also found in the Democrat Party, but I find less of this and more of an agenda that is to be the voice for the voiceless and the disadvantage.

  17. Pat, we all know you're full of shit and untrustworthy. You have been disgraced and no amount of denial is ever going to put you in office again or have anybody in Brownsville take you seriously. Whenever you perceive anybody as the enemy you come out and bad mouth them to cover up your own sense of inadequacy, and you are a woefully inadequate man. You are for you, Pat. The only party you would accept is one worshipping a golden statue of you. You've betrayed the Democratic party before and I know it would take little for you to betray it again. You are a toad, Pat! People like you and Morgan the Republican deserve each other, in a party no one will vote for. Enjoy your retirement, Pat. You're dead politically.

  18. Anonymous 8:16 AM, if you say so... But, you are the one attacking others and has no respect for those who disagree with you. And, you are the one who justifies buying and harvesting votes. You are also the one who will not sign your name, meaning you are a coward who lashes out and does not stand on what you say. I have more respect for Morgan who at least is willing to stand for what she believes than people like you who are like sheep and represent the dark side, but remember we all die and are held accountable. When your day comes, perhaps then you will know the significance of trying to do what is right. And, to say that I betray is ludicrous, based on what, because I supported Dan who was running to serve and not to be served l like Eddie. Enjoy your moment of glory with your cohorts, but in the end we all answer to a higher being. And, if that makes me full of S--- , that is okay.. Good luck...being in the sewer..
