Queen of the Politiqueras to Sergio Zarate: "Yo lo doy mucho apoyo!"

Sergio Zarate, a candidate for City Commissioner, District 2, was observed Thursday in front of the Brownsville Public Library, making a beeline for octogenarian politiquera, Herminia Becerra.

 As two observers closed in on the couple, they overheard Herminia say to Sergio:  "Yo lo doy mucho apoyo!(I'm giving you much support!)"

 Ms. Becerra's remarks could be totally innocent, although we've been told in the past that she does nothing for free.  When Nena and I encountered her in 2012, fronting the Abelardo Gomez and Carlos Masso tents adjacent to Cameron Park, she told us, while posing proudly for a pic:  "For fifty years, no one gets elected unless I say so!"
While Herminia's "support" could be voluntary, uncompensated, we doubt it, based on her track record.  She is widely recognized as a vote-gathering machine. The document at the left, created from election records by Laura Miniel, illustrates her control over her neighborhood around Western Boulevard.  Nearly every voter there is labeled in the records as EVBM(Early Voter Ballot Mailed), traditionally where voter fraud occurs.
In 2012 we published the picture at the left, where Herminia appeared to be supporting Luis Saenz for District Attorney. We asked Zeke Silva, campaign manager for Saenz, to clarify the appearance of a relationship.  Through Silva and also Gilbert Velasquez, who did graphics for the campaign, we offered Saenz the opportunity on this blog to distance himself from Herminia Becerra.  Saenz never responded.

 We are offering the same opportunity to Sergio Zarate.  You have the opportunity via this blog to state your exact relationship with Herminia Becerra.  We will print your response without commentary.

    Zarate will never be elected to nothing, reaching for CORRUPT POLITIQUERAS HELP just shows how desperate he is to grab a little power, how can people trust a guy who uses her little daughter sickness to steal a few dollars and gain people's sympathy.

      Yes there's solid evidence on Herminia... and Herminia is wearing a William Garza shirt, and Herminia is holding a William Garza sign, and William Garza was also using an arrested politiquero awaiting trial for voter fraud at the library.

      So why is Zarate the feature of this story and not William Garza??? This seems way too contrived!

    It is no secret I am supporting Sergio. Besides his pluses, Tetreau has been a disgrace as a city commissioner. She is uneducated, ignorant and opportunistic. The only time she makes the front pages of the Brownsville Herald is in the wake of another thrashing of her Taliban husband. She specializes in being the puppet of the special interests. She isn't sitting on the GBIC board because she makes objective decisions. The fat cats have an annual $4 million taxpayer windfall to divide among themselves and they need someone who is intellectually incapable of doing the right thing executing their dastardly deeds. We want white trash to be the face of Brownsville!?! We're not electing kissing cousins from the Ozarks to represent us. As to Zarate's relationship with Becerra, his district is on the city's east side while her traditional strength lies in Las Prietas, which is in West Brownsville. Though I support Garza against the mayor, you might have speculated on her role in Garza's campaign since she is holding his sign. Nevertheless, I support your democratic right to give anyone you choose hell.

    I'm supporting Mrs. Tetreau. I think it's really sad that mr Zarate has always bashed and gone negative on Mrs. t. And to know he has to use politiqueras just lets me know I made the right choice.

    I was there the lady was asking about where William was and has nothing to do with the Zarate camp. I'm sure there are many differences between the 2 sides and they may attack each other on issues and in certain instances personal matters but this is totally made up. Even in the pic Zarate is looking away. Don't let your hatred for an individual make you a believer of lies.

    I AM TIRED of getting calls for Sergio Zarate (in 3 days I counted at least 8 calls). Only ONE person called me for Jessica Tetreau. I voted on Monday at the main library branch. I wish this people would STOP calling. I feel like cursing them off.

    Zarate was screaming that Tetreau is a BITCH at the top of his lungs at the library. Forget politics, If he has no respect for this woman who happens to be with child, what respect does he have for any other woman? I REFUSE To vote for any man who bashes women.
