  1. I overheard a comment about 18 months ago when I was photographing the parrots that congregate in the trees at night that the trees should just be cut down because of the mess they made.

  2. There goes the neighborhood. I once counted three hundred green parakeets in those trees eating pecans. What a racket and what a sight. Those old trees were beautiful and provided some welcome shade in that side yard.

  3. This makes all the sense in the world. If a pigeon shits on your balcony, demolish the building.

  4. The blame likely goes to the Museum administration....not liking the noise and the parrot poop. Has anyone asked them or reviewed the minutes of their meetings.....because it wasn't done free. Or, perhaps the Historical Association took the action based on the Museum Staff recommendations. Is there no ordinance regarding the cutting of trees in the city???? I bet there is. Obviously the city has turned a blind eye, the Historical Association is not likely to be held accountable....so no enforcement of downtown laws. Oh, but let a private citizen cut down trees, especially palm trees, and the heavy hand of the law would be there to enforce those laws. Like the Obama administration.......the local government doesn't enforce the laws on itself.

  5. Back in 2004 UTB had mature palm trees cut down along Elizabeth (University Drive now), without consulting with the city that had an ordinance against cutting down palm trees. As I recall the herald never followed up on the violation of the ordinance.

  6. Years back, when the Red Crowned Parrot was named the city bird, there was an ordinance passed that prohibited the cutting down of old palm trees, because that's where the parrots made their homes, in the hollowed out trunk, I remember this, because I covered the story when I worked in news, they even had signs made and put on old palm trees.

  7. This has nothing to do with the post dudes...but I just have to vent...lol!

The round mound of ass pound, Boobie the blimp, Cervantes has gon back to back days writing about trans genders dudes. Yesterday he wrote that parents should love their kids...not because of their genitalia, but because they are their kids......wow, thanks for clearing that up for us blimp....lol! Today, the grotesque one puts out that genitalia does not determine if you are a man or a woman.....that you need a genetic test and a brain scan to determine your sex......I know dudes...the know it all blimp has added Doctor to his many self given titles...lol!

But we have to examine the hairy ball of grease's posts to understand his psyche duded....before that he wrote about his daddy, and the battle going on in his head of not knowing if he hatred him or loved him dudes...then the post of telling parents to love their kids for who they are not what they have hanging between their legs dudes....... today, the overweight gay blogger writes, that genitalia does not affirm one's sex dudes...that you need a genetic test and a brain scan to make those kinds of assertions..... is the blimp writing biographically ? Is the drama queen blogger, a woman trapped in a mans body dudes?....Did God make mistakes like the hairy ball of lard eludes to?........

the soap opera that is the mind of the blimp never seizes to amaze us dude....lol!

    2. Dude, if you don't like what he writes, why do you read it? Did his topic hit too close to home? I found his insight enlightening. And you know what? He's right.

  8. Somehow, I suspect the new gang of two--Gonzalez/McAllen--had a hand(s) in this. Somebody should call the City Manager to see what he knows and when he knew it.

  9. Who ever ordered this should be held accountable. This goes against City Ordinance and in my opinion is criminal. No one should this kind of authority to cut mature trees, unless it is a safety hazard. The tress cannot be replaced, but something should be done to restore the cut trees with similar size trees. I hope someone is held accountable.

    1. Ahumada, you cannot be serious. It's trees! The freaking town is hosting hundreds of kids from Central America and you focus on mature trees being cut down? Talk about your brain on booze. Get a book and educate yourself. Maybe then you can come back with something intelligent.

  10. What do you think about Mayor Martinez's partner representing the seller of Casa Nylon, and buying a way overpriced building? There is a laew which states governments can not pay more than appraised value for a property. The fix was in, the Mayor and his partner, who happened to be the neighbor of Mr. Galonsky made a lot of money. Is this criminal? Isn't this more important than some trees? Should they be held accountable?

  11. What do you expect from a half-assed organization that largely doesn't the first thing about local history and thinks it is incumbent on us to celebrate Mexican events. Priscilla is a loser.
