Traffickers use South Texas as a key stop along the routes to other cities, according to a recent article carried by The Associated Press. But don't assume all these woman are from south of the border.
"This isn't an immigration issue like many people assume," said John Martin, executive director of the Center of Hope. "We get victims from all over, including young girls from Brownsville and McAllen. There is an eyes-wide-shut phenomenon here in the valley."
Law enforcement officers and community advocates are trying to rescue these victims, no matter where they come from.

ReplyDeleteMs. Begum is an honest woman, with all the means to live an uncomplicated life doing nothing, I truly believe the only reason she is running for JP is to give back to her community and help others.

The only reasion she is running is to help her son. Why do you think they are spending a ton of money? We do not have time for on the job training. Will the county provide me with a translator if I have to go to her court room? I speak English.

I don't really know how to help you. It takes a certain amount of mental dexterity to see past an accent. Many narrow minded folk had difficulty understanding Henry Kissinger. Perhaps, you could function better in the midwest instead of trying and failing to cope with a regional accent. You do realize the problem and insufficiency is yours, do you not?

DeleteIs this Jonathan or his dad? You just gave yourself away, son. You started by criticizing Begum's accent, then, when that didn't sail, you come back with "lousy candidate." You get a point for persistence, but a zero for skill level.
DeleteThis person that is making an issue of an accent, let me remind you that we are a nation of immigrants, there are people with accents in every level of politics and in every profession, it is shamefu that the person posting this derogatory comments is a Mexican whose parents or grandparents probably did not even speak English, but he feels superior because he grew up without bothering to learn Spanish which is only a deficiency, a person who speaks with an accent is not less of an American because of the accent, specially someone who cares enough to get into politics, shame on you

Abel Limas, in prison, another crooked lawyer who ran for office and who could forget Erin "You Deserve Legal Experience" H. Garcia, awaiting the AG opinion on her fake marriage waivers for cash biz.
