Tools and Schools~UTB Moves North to Price Road Strip Mall

  1. This makes the "Casa del Nylon" look like it was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Nothing says class like being neighbors with the dollar store. I guess if your are striving to be a satellite, commuter college this is a perfect fit. However, I don't think the manager of the dollar store makes $314,000 a year. On the plus side, there certainly is ample parking space. No need to bulldoze a park for that.

  2. Please send a copy of these photos to the UT Board of Regents and the UT-Austin School of Architecture.

For all you design freaks out there please take note of the delicate touch of uniformity where each box has an "Ojo de Buey" rather oddly slapped on the corner wall. Generally, the "Ojo de Buey" is used for both style and illumination. In other words, it has a hole in it which lets light flow.

  5. ROFLMAO! More appropriate would have been next to a tortilleria or raspa stand! NO CLASS.

  6. While the citizens and officials of Hidalgo County are willing to contribute money, land and resources to the new UT-RGV, it looks like Julieta has decided to have a "piece meal" approach to education. The loser will be the students, having to negotiate the various "camp-like" facilities to find their classes. Now they won't need parking, they will need a vehicle, on top of higher tuition. Looks like Julieta and Tony Martinez have the same kind of "piece-meal" mentality.

  8. If that is the old Good Will store, shouldn't UTB have been in it, not on it?
