Michael Q. Sullivan |
Working our way to the Texas Republican Primary, the Republican Club of Brownsville (RCB) will host various statewide candidates starting in September. To prepare our members and Brownsville, RCB will host a Texas Political Forum led by Michael Quinn Sullivan of Empower Texans and Texans for Fiscal Responsibility. The discussion will be held during its regular meeting on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 12:00 PM (noon) at the VICC Restaurant on 95 Country Club Road, Brownsville, Texas. All are welcomed to attend. The VICC lunch buffet will be available for purchase.
RCB President Eddie Padron stated, "Sometimes voters pay more attention to what is happening in Washington, so it is important we have a firm understanding of the resolved issues of the 2013 legislative session and unresolved issues facing Texas. We are proud to have Mr. Sullivan, a renowned, knowledgeable analyst and activist, visit us in Brownsville to review and preview of what is to come as we approach the March Republican Primary. We know he thinks highly of Brownsville and our history."

Padron further stated, "Our club strongly believes in an informed voter which is why we invited Michael. If you want a say in the state's direction or to learn about our conservative movement, please attend this forum and as many of our club's upcoming statewide Republican candidate events. Already several strong candidates in each of the various top statewide races have announced their intent to be in the Republican primary. Texas Railroad Commissioner Barry Smitherman, candidate for Texas Attorney General, will be at our September 4th meeting."
