Did You Vote for Javier Hernandez for Justice of the Peace, 2-2? You Can Still Make A Difference!

A disappointed Southmost resident expressed herself:  "I voted for Javier Hernandez because I know his family.  I know he worked many years in law enforcement and now, is a bailiff in the court.  I know how he treats people and knew he would make a great Justice of the Peace."

Another voter explained why he voted  for Javier:    "Honestly, I think Javier would have been great,.  I went to school with him at Porter.   But, I had another reason for voting for him.  I don't want Erin Hernandez Garcia to get the position.  The Ernie Hernandez family are just awful people and they've done so much harm in our community."

Javier Hernandez came in third in the May 29th primary in the race for Justice of the Peace, District 2-2.  Yolanda Begum and Erin Hernandez Garcia will be in the runoff July 31.

Many in Brownsville are simply tired of the Ernie Hernandez family using the city and county as their personal ATM machines.   Although it is totally unethical for city and county officials to do business with the city and county, local leaders have simply been too cowardly to stop the Hernandez family from providing printing, wrecker services and vending machine services for the county, city and BISD.  The Hernandez family play a shell game with their companies, putting them into the ownership of whichever family member is not currently holding an elected position.

The Hernandez family is also epic in providing jobs for relatives and family members whether they qualify or not.  They are not above using unethical means like having a Human Resouces employee take the test for Ernie's illiterate, convicted felon brother-in-law Robert Cadriel.  It is also alleged that Ernie Hernandez provided thousands of dollars worth of county caliche for another brother-in-law, alleged murderer Ariol Cadriel,  to give him easy access to his firing range.  The family are simply leaches on the City of Brownsville and Cameron County.

For those who voted for Javier Hernandez for Justice of the Peace because he is an honest, hardworking citizen and because you are not thrilled with the corruption of the Ernie Hernandez family, you still have an option.  Like Javier Hernandez, Yolanda Begum is an honest, hardworking member our community.  She has years of public service, teaching art to truant students in Cameron Park.  Like Javier, she has no interest in using the role of Justice of the Peace to enrich herself or her family.

Yolanda is the widow of Mike Begum.  They owned the New Yorker and several other clothing stores in Brownsville and McAllen.  Their son Alex and daughter Sasha are both successful lawyers.  Ms. Begum has been criticized by Erin Hernandez for her Spanish accent, but the truth is that she is a highly educated, well-rounded, sincere individual who simply wants to serve her community.  In that respect, she is very similar to Javier Hernandez.

Early voting for the runoff election is July 23-27.  Election day  is July 31.

    1. Your family is stupid. After my family viewed last night's intereview on channel 4, we are NOT voting for Ms. Begum. We voted for Cookie because he is family. But you DO NOT go around accusing anyone of THEFT, especially without any proof.

    3. All you ever hear from the Hernandezes is one excuse after another excuse as to why they should not be considered guilty of the latest Hernandez escandalo of the week....

      If it isn't:
-denying any involvment in stealing and destroying Begum's signs (let's face it, no other candidate except an opponent has any interest in Begum's signs)

      Then its:
-denials about who took the test for Roberto Cadriel to get him a job at the County

      - another denial excuses on the ownership of the vending machine company doing business with the County

      - the tow trucks and who printed those t shirts for the city while Ernie was commissioner?

      - silence on the question of whether Erin was breaking the law by serving as campaign treasurer for John Villareal

      - etc

  2. Red tennis shoes aside, Javier looks like a nice guy. But being a bailiff hardly qualifies him for the position he seeks. A bailiff is a waterboy for the court he or she serves. Again, however, this spotlights the problem with local political candidates. Many, many are simply not QUALIFIED. The standard set by Brownsville is too-low. Yes, everyone should be able to posture himself/herself for any elected position. But just as the city allows these people to sign-up, it should also quickly and firmly turn them away. A vote for someone like Javier for JP is a vote to keep things as they are - poorly executed. No, let this guy go after coaching t-ball, but keep him out of the Fast Track. When Brownsville starts setting the bar a bit higher, then it will claim better public servants. Javier is not the answer to anything. Really, he is the Question Mark.

    1. It looks pretty certain that "The History of Writing" will never include anything by you. That above is, without question, proof enough that you labor without the benefit of a fully-developed brain. It's sad, but, really, you should have had Ma & Pa arrested for not completing the conceiving sex act in the appropriate manner.

  5. Then we must raise the bar all over the country. Most JP in United States that are loved and respected because they do a very good job and heir constituents support them and keep on electing them, come from all walks of life. This position of Justice of the Peace is a very peculiar position, and the ideal candidate is someone who is wise and understanding, someone who can listen and make decisions based on honesty and common sense. And a pompous no name lawyer with nothing but a tittle on her hand whose only experience with the law is braking it, and being the puppet of an evil mother and a corrupt father is not raising the bar. Javier is honest and good hearted, he would have learned like Bennie Ochoa, Linda Salazar, Julian Garza, Manuel Flores, Sallie Gonzalez, Eloy Cano Jr, Juan Mendoza, Adam Gonzalez, Tony Torres, Alex Torres etc.

    1. Jajjajajajaaj Erin the no name lawyer!!!! Her interview was so arrogant and pompous, let alone casting stones at all recent and past JPs!!

  6. Sorry it is Alex Perez. according to Erin Hernandez the JPs are all incompetent because they are not lawyers, but as "incompetent" as they are, there has never been a Limas at the JP level. what do we want? honest mistake or knowingly breaking the law

  7. Yolanda Begum will win this one. What has Limas/Villalobos/Arturo Nelson/Rene Oliveira/Ray Marchan clusterfuck in the Herald proven but one undeniable truth: Lawyers in Cameron County CANNOT be trusted to serve as judges with honor, impartiality and fairness. Particularly not when their family is the Hernandez 'vending machine/who took that test for Cadriel?' family. Time to drain the swamp!

  8. Erin you are such a lier, first you voted for yourself not for cookie, and second you lied through your teeth when you said you did not know anything about stolen signs, when the whole County know that your father is known for corruption and dirty politics

    1. Lier? What a monstrously lame comment. The reason local politicians and public servants abuse the community is because the community consists of a large number of uneducated slobs. Lier, he wrote. Lier!

  9. Erin is part of the county corruption clan. Ernie Hernandez, her felon uncle who had someone take a test for him, her other uncle who murdered a young and abused a child. Her mother a politiquera, her father a conflict of interest king awarding himself contracts with the city and county. Erin is no different.......dirty dirty dirty....rotten to the core!
