With so many local politicos seeking office it may be necessary to assign each of them a number. Eddie Lucio, Jr's number is easy and obvious-21,000,000, the number of taxpayer dollars he flushed down the veritable commode in his Port of Brownsville fiasco. For the Majority 4 at BISD, Escobedo, Saavedra, Presas-Garcia and Longoria the number is 14,000,000, the number of our children's educational dollars they kissed bye-bye to under the influence of convicted racketeer Carlos Quintanilla in behalf of multi-millionaire Ted Parker, former owner of HealthSmart.Adela Garza's number is much larger, 200,000,000. That is the dollar value of assets she and three of her cohorts Trey Mendez, Francisco Rendon and Rene Torres successfully protected when they blocked efforts by UTB President Juliet Garcia to donate those considerable assets to the University of Texas system. Of course, the taxpayers still will be paying for those tangible assets for the next 20 years, but with ownership, not as a donation to one of the richest educational entities in the world. Split the recovery four ways with the Linebarger recovery fee in effect and each of the above-mentioned trustees would qualify for a $7,500,000 commission.
But, there's more. Slimeball "Representative" Rene Oliveira tried to sabotage the preservation of Texas Southmost College and its considerable assets with a traitorous move in the Texas House of Representatives by totally misrepresenting what the TSC Board of Trustees had just voted on. Garza raced up to Austin, lobbied the committee considering the potentially disastrous bill and thwarted Oliveira's community backstab. That's a proactive move that none of Garza's opponents, Democrat or Republican can lay claim to.

And this whole thing is about how Endorsers were wrong in who they picked but are they themselves know what they're saying or who they're talking about? Plus, don't people have a right to choose who to endorse without other people stabbing them in the back with a pencil? I HOPE SO!?! So I HOPE that this is not just another setup to get people to think all is well....They did that with Obama! Is all well? Answer me that! This obama care is giving the government more money than they can handle and taxes are increasing! Disqualificatiion due to party logo is indicative of the political ignorance that exists in this area. Perhaps it is because this kind of choice is easier than learning about the candidates. Remember "read" is just another 4-letter word in this community. What has the Democratic Party brought us...corruption, fraud, no jobs, no jobs, and no progress. ReplyDeleteAgree with anon of 8:19 AM. Individuals who won't bother to educate themselves and learn more about a candidate will usually look at the "parenthesized letter" following the name. As well stated by Anon of 8:19, a great percentage of Cameron County voters still exercise the "palanca" mentality. If the letter (D) appears, rest assured this person will gather the majority of the vote. If an (R) is indicated, the candidate is assumed to be for the rich and powerful and will only benefit himself/herself. Some old habits are hard to shake.

Does she really want her political life exposed for everyone to see? Does she want it out there that all she is securing is a job for her cronies? She work under Farenthold for the past year and a half, how productive was his tenure in office? She should save her money, this joke is really going to cost her.
