The Matamoros Chamber of Commerce office has used the shooting at Sunrise Mall as indictive that Brownsville is not a safe place for travel according to a Brownsville Herald article 1/12/2012. "It is because of the violent event that happened this past Sunday at Sunrise Mall, where a shooting took place, as well as many other events of extreme violence taking place in the Valley."
The chamber indicated that Mexican businessmen have been victims of violence in Brownsville and cautioned those Mexican nationals considering moving their businesses to Texas. "It is important to alert those who have the intention of moving to Texas cities to analyze all aspects, including insecurity."
Matamoros officials can't really believe the hyperbole of this bogus report. It is simply indicative of the thin-skinned nature of our sister city. Any school kid knows this is simply payback for all of the warnings to American citizens by the State Department concerning travel to Mexico and the effect those warnings have on Mexican tourism.
Matamoros recently was included in the world's 50 most dangerous cities at number 19. Our state department is within their absolute right to warn American citizens about the danger of putting themselves in harm's way by traveling in Mexico. This little payback advisory by Matamoros comes off as petulant, childish. Get control of your country guys!

ReplyDeleteU.S. Americans better wake up to the fact Mexico is so insanely JEALOUS OF US, FOR OUR WEALTH, OUR FREE ENTERPRISE SYSTEM, AND OUR WAY OF LIFE.
I have gotten into some VERY heated discussions with close friends (who BTW are wealthy) Mexicans that live in Matamoros, when they start criticizing America. YET, they made sure their children were born here, educated here, fed American food, shop here, clothed their children from here and in fact, WE AMERICANS EVEN PAID FOR THEIR CHILDREN COLLEGE EDUCATION to the tune of millions of dollars!!!
When I ask them if they HATE AMERICA SO MUCH WHY DID THEY MAKE SURE THEIR CHILDREN BE BORN HERE, EDUCATED HERE, FED HERE, CLOTHED HERE, WHY DEPEND SO MUCH FROM AMERICA? They NEVER have an answer and just SHUT UP.
Then I go for the juggler and tell them since America have given them soooo much, every time they cross the bridge and enter the US they should get out of their car and KISS AMERICAN'S SOIL IN GRATITUDE FOR WHAT THEY HAVE!!!!!! Without us MEXICO WOULD BE ANOTHER HAITI!!!!!!
