  1. This MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR COLOSSAL MONEY PIT will probably become the new residence for our town HOBOS, you just wait and see.

  2. It is up to the proper city authorities to prevent the bus terminal from becomming a homeless shelter for street people. It will definetly be a hard task. If we are to be realistic, it is not something that would happen only in Brownsville. If you go to San Antonio, Houston, Austin, Laredo, Las Cruces NM, Tucson, Los Angeles, any bus terminal has problems with homeless "inhabitants". Once again, it would have to be a Brownsville PD or a city of Brownsville security issue to remove the homeless from the building. If I am going to say something negative about the new bus terminal, I would say that inquiring minds should have thought about future city growth and place the building away from the downtown area. That lot would have been better for a parking area building, but then again, only inquiring minds have input. I want to give it a chance. Hope and success to the new terminal.

  3. Mary J. M you're a typical misguided liberal, the question should be WHY did we needed a MONEY PIT PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TERMINAL in the first place????
U.S. tax paying citizens WHO PAID FOR THIS MISTAKE are not going to use PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION.
1-ONLY ILLEGALS AND MEXICANS WILL USE THESE SERVICES WHO HAVE NOT PAID NOT EVEN A DIME IN TAXES. AND Even if U. S. citizens use public trans. I can assure you THEY DIDN'T PAY ANY TAXES TO BUILD THIS MONSTROSITY.
2-The little business our DT merchants had it's going to KILL THEIR BUSINESS NOW 'CAUSE THEIR CUSTOMERS ARE GOING TO BE BUSSED TO WALMART, THE MALL, ETC.
3-IF OUR EXISTING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM WAS OPERATION IN THE RED IT WILL BE 2-5 TIMES WORST WITH THIS NEW FACILITY!!!!!
ESPECIALLY SINCE THE CITY IS FLAT BROKE WE CAN'T AFFORD IT NOW!!!!
THE WHOLE THING IS A MAJOR FIASCO AND A WASTE OF TAX DOLLARS!!!

  4. "1-ONLY ILLEGALS AND MEXICANS WILL USE THIS SERVICES..."

So you would rather have Anglos and Blacks riding the buses? Maybe B.U.S. can put a sign prohibiting "ILLEGALS AND MEXICANS" from riding the buses. Would that calm you down?

    P.S. Take your meds.

  5. Please calm your anger. I believe there will be a Border Patrol office inside the terminal (that is for the comment on illegals). People that want to shop at Walmart or the mall will keep on doing so with or without the terminal being where it is. I live very close to a Walmart and once in a while I still go downtown shopping. MY CHOICE. The comment of me being a misguided liberal is really uncalled for because you dont know me, and by your judgment call, I thank the Lord, I dont know you. I am actually very conservative. I suppose you know that many american born people use the bus terminal to travel to places such as Houston or San Antonio, and as a Brownsville resident, I hope you know that the bus terminal will not only be used for city buses (comment about the city BUS system being in the red), but also for buses that travel all over the United States of America. Last, my COMMENT said that I DONT LIKE the bus terminal being built in the downtown area, but rather the place would be better off as a parking garage. You have the right to comment, you DONT HAVE the right to judge others.

  6. Mr. or Ms. "All-Caps" just needs something to be mad at in order to have some sort of self-fulfillment. Anyway, 80% of the terminal was funded by federal money, not local taxes. The rest was funded by the city and PUB.

Illegal immigrants and Mexicans pay taxes. Check out any shopping center and see all the Mex plates.

So unclick the all-caps key, and go foam at the mouth at something worthwhile, like world famine.

  8. Mr or Mrs "ALL CAPS" Stop winning you should have done this before the terminal was build.... anyways as was stated by that other person illegals and Mexicans also pay some sort of tax when they come to our shopping centers they pay "taxes to be exact .0825 on all their purchases" Its time Brownsville gets decent bus terminal i have traveled the country and has traveled by bus now i can say Brownsville has a bus station nice enough like El Paso and Phoenix, and people don't be ignorant please we already had homeless sleeping on the Market Square, the Greyhound station and the Expresso station i know we all have opinion but if you don't want homeless why not get security guards for the building

  9. Mexicans don't pay sales tax on their purchases. They get a refund called manifestos.
