It was pointed out to me that while many candidates for office choose to have their meet & greets in neutral territory like a conference room or event center, Mike Rodriguez opened up his home to us, giving us a glimpse of the function and growing together of a young Brownsville family.
Rodriguez gave a short speech, mainly focusing on making it easier to start a business in our city, not throwing so much red tape and charges that prospective business owners just give up the process.

The Rodriguez Family |
All I could think of was "what a great place to raise a family" as I checked out the Rodriguez's log home, tree house and basketball court, all hidden under mesquite trees after a long driveway.
As someone who, along with my wife, managed a young family many years ago, a similar set of skills will come in handy serving the interests of the constituents in Brownsville's District 4.
