With much of the world news focused on our cabinet's amateurish handling of classified war plans, we can't lose sight of the fact that the incompetence and ineptitude starts with Trump himself.
It's not like Trump didn't tell us he wanted to be a "Dictator," even, if only on "Day One." We saw him, you saw him, making goo-goo eyes at Vlad Putin, Viktor Orban, Kim Jong Un, so-called strong men he wanted to emulate. Hell, his first wife told us he admired Adolf Hitler and kept a copy of his speeches on the nightstand. Then, during the 2024 campaign, he said immigrants were "poisoning the blood of the nation," a classic Hitler phrase, referred to his political enemies as "vermin" just as Hitler did.
The old wise heads, who labored around Trump during Term One, told us to NEVER let this guy near the White House again; John Kelly, Rex Tillerson, James Mattis and a dozen or so others, but we didn't listen. Then, we watched as Trump selected unqualified sycophants to run every major department, the weekend Fox News host with the alcohol problem, Pete Hegseth, to run the Department of Defense, the loony, brain wormed, bear-carcass-tossing conspiracy-theorist RFK, Jr. to wreck HHS and on and on.
Certainly, those of us of voting age, had to notice Trump occasionally told an untruth, like every time he moved his teeth, lying about everything from crowd size, the coronavirus being "under control," windmills causing cancer and too much other shit to even mention. Yes, compulsive, persistent, even pathological lying is a control mechanism and we, the American and Cameron County electorate, were controlled.
And what's with all this toddlerish bull shit about taking over the Panama Canal, stealing Greenland, making Canada the 51st state, etc.? It's not just that America has shrunk from the world stage, but that we are pitied for having such a dumbass "leading" our country.
OK, OK, Barton. Stop with the unnecessary verbage. We admit we were conned.
