Ukraine President Calls Trump’s Bluff

During last week's presidential debate, Donald Trump boasted that he could easily settle the Russia-Ukraine conflict even before he takes office as President.

“I will have that war settled between Putin and Zelenskyy as President-Elect before I take office as president on Jan. 20,” the former president said at last week's televised showdown with Biden. 

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has now essentially called Trump's bluff, saying if he knows how to easily end the war between Ukraine and Russia, his country wants to be involved in those negotiations.

"If Trump knows how to end this war he should tell us today," Zelenskyy said in an interview with Bloomberg TV. 

"Because, if there are risks to Ukraine's independence, if there are risks that we lose statehood, we want to be prepared for this. . . . They can't plan my life and the life of our people, our children. . . . . . My message is if they have the plan, it can be not public because of the elections, but I think we have to know before to prepare."" stated Zelenskyy.

The Ukraine president has reason for worry because of the mess created by Trump's looselipped, reckless mishandling of Afghanistan in August 2019, publicly announcing the U.S. was pulling out, destroying any semblance of leverage for his negotiators, who he then sent in to talk to the enemy, excluding the Afghan government from the process.

Biden inherited that mess but Trump was 100% to blame for the awkward, hasty pullout, forfeiting millions of dollars of American equipment to the enemy.

That's Zelenskyy's fear~that blabbermouth Trump, if elected, will handle Ukraine just as he took a shit on Afghanistan, leaving a huge mess and possible loss of Ukraine sovereignty.
