Cascos, at a 2012 meeting with Brownsville's bloggers |
Minutes ago, I received a call from a very credible source reporting that former County Judge and Secretary of State Carlos Cascos had passed away.
The report indicated that Cascos, driving Hwy 100 on South Padre Island, had a heart incident that resulted in his vehicle veering into a house, an accident that resulted in his death.
Our condolences to his wife and family.

Seems like anyone who hangs around with the spotted owl doesn’t live long
ReplyDeleteCarlos Cascos: a natural leader and good man from Brownsville.
ReplyDeleteRIP Carlos. You were one of the few honorable men in local government.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you
DeleteCascos was the face of the Cameron County Republican Party. With both he and Morgan Graham departing, I don't know who that face will be.
ReplyDeleteI’m disappointed that he left the county judgeship before his term expired n did the same as Secretary of State without giving a reason… may he rest in peace
