Once again, someone is paying Juan Montoya of El Rrun Rrun to write a classlessly pandering article claiming that beloved TSC Trustee Ruben Herrera is somehow promoting the candidacy of two newbies to education administration from beyond the grave.
Montoya uses a montage of cleverly cropped photos to show Herrera standing next to both Norma Lopez-Harris and Edward Camarillo, then enhances that image by claiming that "before he left for Spain," Ruben Herrera "endorsed" the young duo.
Montoya does not stop with cropped photos, though, but uses word-for-word remembrances in an attempt to sully the reputations of incumbents Eva Alejandro and J.J. De Leon, with 52 and 36 years in education administration respectively.
Calling upon his photographic memory, Montoya recalls the precise words he claims Ruben Herrera used to describe TSC Trustee J.J. De Leon; "petulant, petty and arrogant prima donna" board member and also recalls Herrera characterizing Eva Alejandro as "trying to micromanage the administration," but, also, "overbearing" and "demanding."

Next, Montoya lets the cat out of the proverbial bag as to who might be funding the blogger-for-hire's journalism with these kind words for Board Chair Adela Garza: "His death stunned all of [sic], especially board chair Adela Garza, who shared his love of the college and its students and staff."
Next, portraying himself as acting in tandem with Garza, Montoya laments that "Even though we both helped to get them elected six years ago, we could see that now they were too caught up in themselves for the board to work together as a team for the betterment of TSC." (Is Juan Montoya an unelected TSC trustee?)
Apparently, Adela Garza finds educational veterans Alejandro and De Leon not the kind of "do as you're told" kids she needs to manipulate the board as she sees fit, but, bringing in two inexperienced newbies fits her need for Stepin Fetchit types.
All of this obvious BS is simply an Adela Garza power play for control of the board with Juan Montoya being a "pawn in her game," albeit a paid one.
For the betterment of TSC, my ass!
If Ruben Herrera did push for the two young candidates it was only to please Adela. Giving in to a bully makes life easier than always fighting one, but you lose your self-respect in a hurry.
ReplyDeleteIt makes no sense in replacing TSC Trustee Place 7, Eva Alejandro who has an extensive background in education with Dr. Norma Lopez Harris who has no educational experience. And why replace TSC Trustee Place 6 Juan Jose “J.J” De Leon Jr. who also has numerous years of experience in the educational field with Edward C. Camarillo who much like Harris has no educational experience
