𝗜𝗧'𝗦 𝗡𝗢 𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗥 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗧𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗬 𝗧𝗨𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗘, 𝗕𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗥𝗘 𝗚.𝗢.𝗣. 𝗕𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦

 

Senator Tommy Tuberville

For the longest it's been Alabama Senator Tommy "Mental Midget" Tuberville holding up 250 military promotions to protest the Pentagon's abortion policy with that holdup number ballooning to 650 by the end of 2023.

Some Republican senators did voice their displeasure with Tuberville's unpatriotic stance; Senators Lindsay Graham, Jodi Ernst, Dan Sullivan, among others.

"China is smiling. . . . It almost makes you weep!" said Alaska Senator Sullivan.

Two days ago the G.O.P. conference in the Senate met behind closed doors, still coming away with no resolution.

Senator Shelley Moore Capito described the meeting as tossing around "a lot of ideas, but with no consensus."

So, what does this mean?

The holdup of military raises is no longer a Tommy Tuberville roadblock, but now squarely on the entire Republican Senate.  They could easily have worked with Democrats and circumvented Tuberville, but CHOSE not to do so.

So, now the G.O.P. owns this shit.  The Republican Party stands solidly in the way of U.S. military promotions.
