. . . . . . . . . "𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐈𝐒 𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐓𝐇?"

Pontius Pilate

Not since the tenure of the 5th Governor of the Roman Province of Judaea has any politician been so unconcerned with truth.

Pontius Pilate's question during the arrest of Jesus seemingly was mouthed with some mockery of the accused and his followers:

"What is truth?"

Donald Trump on "Meet the Press"

Over two thousand years later, Donald J. Trump made us all want to ask the same question Pilate asked, when he told Meet the Press commentator Kristen Welks:

"I have all the facts."

When lies, falsehoods and exaggerations become acceptable, truth or facts are devalued, almost unimportant.

The "facts" with which Trump met the press were once called "alternate facts" by Presidential Counselor Kellyanne Conway, the former wife of Attorney George Conway III.

If lies are not lies, but simply "alternate facts," there becomes no need to search for truth.

Discovery, study, research, exploration are all so unnecessary if there is no truth or if "alternate facts" are the equivalent of truth.

This is the slippery slope when cult worshipping a liar, someone who's perfected the "Art of the Con," replaces the search for truth.

Anyway:

"What is truth?"
