LARRY JOKL DID NOT PICK MY QUESTION AT REALTOR'S CANDIDATE FORUM WEDNESDAY

Realtor, Developer Larry Jokl
Audience members wanting to submit a question to the three mayoral candidates were asked to write their question on a slip of paper and place it inside a transparent fish bowl.

My question did not make the cut.

At the 6:52 PM point of the forum, with 8 minutes still on the clock, Master of Ceremonies Larry Jokl declared the forum concluded and turned the microphone back over to Alma Coronado, chairperson of the board's political affairs committee.

I have no idea how Jokl determined which questions to use, whether he selected them on merit or at random.

All I know is that he did not use my question:

"Two city ordinances were passed in 2012, calling for the building of an 800 megawatt power plant while also raising electric rates 35%, water rates 20% and waste water rates 6%.  How much money has been collected by those rate hikes and, since the power plant was not built, will rate payers receive a substantial refund?"

In my conversations with people across our town, that is the most frequently asked question.
