WILL THE REAL CARLOS CASCOS PLEASE STAND UP?

Back when Cascos was Cascos
It's hard for me to recognize the current edition of Carlos Cascos.  What happened to that straight-talking, sensible, in-control guy we used to know?

Does Carlos recognize himself when he looks in the mirror?

When in hell did a Carlos Cascos campaign become an out-of-control frat house run by goofy, hyperactive, middle-aged goofballs acting like teenagers?

Sure, Chris Valadez AKA Maclovio O'Malley and Scoutmaster Tad Hasse can be valuable assets to a serious campaign when given a "Hell, no!" to a beyond stupid stunt like convincing troubled restaurateur Robert Sanchez to run in the primaries for county judge as a Democrat.

Real friends don't prey upon lifelong school buddies to humiliate them for a political stunt, especially when that old friend is hugely vulnerable while going through the end of a marriage and dealing with custody issues.

The Carlos Cascos I know and respect would not have permitted that shit, either!  And, don't anyone DARE say Cascos didn't know what was going on!  That would be an even worse performance in running a campaign and not believable!

But, the old Carlos wouldn't have hitched his wagon to the irrational conspiracy theorist/blogger Bobby Wightman-Cervantes, roughly the equivalent of CNN replacing Chris Cuomo with Pee Wee Herman.

Unfortunately, we're witnessing an amazing loss of credibility in a candidate once respected for honesty, integrity, etc.

Will the real Carlos Cascos please stand up?

  5. Cascos is a has been. He has a better chance of getting cast on a c list reality show than becoming county judge.

  6. Cascos is a case of a politician being unable to handle a crisis. Simple as that.

  7. But this trashing of local bloggers cannot stand. Wightman is the proverbial Nobody, a person who needs every friend and smile he can get. Have you seen him? Yeah, we know. Bobby Wightman Cervantes, you’re not handsome enough for OP 10.33! Ha ha ha. Yeah, go play Quasimodo at the Camille Playhouse. LOL

"What happened to that straight-talking, sensible, in-control guy we used to know?" cascos as an old, gray haired balding guy is still the closet juvenile delinquent he has always been. he just happens to have a face you can trust.

  9. Did notice Hasse befriending Joey Garza, the Democrat's politiquero. Who's to say the Republicans are behind this. Rebecca Gomez also claims to be a lifelong Democrat. Sounds like it could have been a sloppy, hair brain Demo scheme from someone in the party with a grudge against Trevino or Sylvia Garza Perez. Doesn't make sense Cascos would go through Hasse or Gomez, he would just ask Valadez. Robert Sanchez said the money was given to him 'all in one's'. Who gives someone $600 in one dollar bills? Like it came from vending machines or arcades or a tip jar or something. Even weirder from your description, that Hasse sounds like he got the money at City hall. Can't imagine Cascos or Valadez walking into city hall, where they would be immediately recognized by everyone there, and signing in to make a cash delivery of 600 $1 dollar bills to a guy in IT. Furthermore if Cascos wanted to start lining up a slate of Republicans to run against Democrats, as former SOS he'd have the pick of the litter, the ability to recruit well-funded, connected Republicans, rising stars. Doubt Sanchez would be his first choice, since Sanchez wanted to go after Oliveira for personal reasons, and had no beef with Trevino. More like a poorly hatched and poorly executed attempt to play kingmaker, by some clueless underling in some botched attempt to help the Republican party, by meddling in the Democrat's primary. But it has backfired badly on the one they were trying to help. The former manager of Hasse's campaign, for example, what was his role here?
