CAMERON COUNTY'S BIGGEST LOSER, ERASMO CASTRO, MUST DEFEAT CARLOS ELIZONDO

Stopping Erasmo Castro, as he prepared to exit the Pepe's Mexican Restaurant, site of the Cameron County Democratic meeting, I told him:

 "You get smaller every time I see you.  We need to update your photo."

We joke that Castro is Cameron County's "biggest loser," not because he's lost several political races in recent years, but because the man has transformed himself from being physically HUGE to almost proverbial fighting weight.
Castro is running for BISD Trustee against the indicted, good-boy-gone -bad, former Brownsville Fire Chief Carlos Elizondo.  Elizondo, not only faces charges of theft, was implicated in the City of Brownsville ambulance fiasco and has been an arrogant manipulator as a BISD trustee.

 Elizondo, introduced to us years ago by Jorge Lerma and Rigo Bocanegra, as a young man, fighting with former Fire Chief Lenny Perez to get reimbursement for classes at UTB as specified by the union contract, seemingly turned into just another corrupt politico, desperately needing retirement mandated by Brownsville voters.

 Erasmo Castro, on the other hand, has overcome his legal problems of two decades ago and should finally get his opportunity at public service.

    I hate Carlos Elizondo but I'll never vote for Erasmo. My family and I will be voting for Elizondo.

    So what you are saying is that Carlos should wait another 20 years before expecting redemption from your blog. Thank God your blog isn't biased. Newsflash Jim....they're both unfit to run. PS, work on your grammar.

    The first time I heard of Castro he was raising money purportedly for cancer. Someone asked him about the distribution of the donations (or something like that) and he said to the effect of "fuck you, never question me". And that was not long ago. That was all I needed to know about him.

    Erasmo Castro needs to be truthful about his past relationships. EVERYTHING IS GOING TO "COME OUT." It might not be important when you run for democratic chair, but being around children is another story!!!!!!!!
