| “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?”
It's long been suspected that President Trump's preference would be for the United States to revert back to the immigration quotas of nearly a century ago; allow immigration that reflects the nationalities, ethnicities, already "here."
That policy would mean that the U.S. would primarily allow those from the United Kingdom, northern Europe to come in, none from Africa, only a sprinkle from Asia. Most immigrants would resemble Trump's own family.
As Trump said today:
'Why do we want these people from all these shithole countries here? We should have more people from places like Norway."
Trump's remarks will bring back his denigrating quotes about Mexicans, his proposed Muslim ban, his unqualified support for racist Roy Moore, even his condescending "look at my African-American over there!"
It won't matter to his so-called base, the 35% rock solid Trumpites, who will "see no evil, hear no evil."
