Ernie Hernandez, So Encouraged by DA Saenz Limp-Wristed Prosecution, Considering Run for Office

During the campaign for district attorney,  Saenz' campaign manager, Zeke Silva, promised that, after being elected, District Attorney Luis Saenz would "go after the head of the snake" of political corruption in Cameron County.

 "Do you mean Ernie Hernandez?" I asked.  

 "What do you think?" was Zeke's reply, leaving the impression that my assumption was correct.

My faith that Saenz would indeed cut off the head of any politically corrupt snake weakened when I saw pictures from a post-primary Democratic get-together showing Saenz lovey-dovey with Ernie and Norma Hernandez, Gilberto Hinojosa, Carlos Masso and even notorious politiquera Herminia Becerra wearing "Luis V. Saenz for District Attorney" t-shirt. 

 Ms. Becerra, who once told Nena and I that "no one gets elected in Brownsville or Cameron County unless she says so," has not received prosecutorial attention from Saenz.

Ernie Hernandez benefited from obvious kid glove treatment from the District Attorney.  However you spin Saenz settling for a no contest plea on one of eight counts of political corruption charges against Ernie Hernandez, Jr., Ernie himself is energized. After hearing initially that Ernie was considering a run for mayor, we now are told that he has settled on running for City Commissioner At-Large "A," a seat currently occupied by Estela Chavez-Vasquez, set to expire May 2015.

      There appears to be a trial of politiqueras coming up. No doubt the Hernandez will be front and center in it. his political career is over.

    The reality of it is that Ernie is small pickings compared to the corruption that is still at the courthouse. Luis clearly singled Ernie out and that in and of itself is wrong. The corruption at the courthouse is beyond what anyone even currently believes it to be.

    Luiis Saenz is a "DICK" and he is not likely to take any action that that hiurts the Dumbokratic Party. Luis Saenz is a member of the "mob" that runs or wants to run local government. Luis is a dues paying member of the local "Dumbokratic Mob" that seeks to take us all to hell.

    And we thought Villalobos was bad. This guy hasn't done anything but ticket old ladies at game rooms. The mentality of a politician that thinks 4 years last forever. Its rumored he's wants to charge Carlos Masso with anything that will make Carlos look bad at the next election. The mind of a one termer
