Real World Brownsville Cyclist/Recycler Mr. Vicente Gonzalez

I ran into Mr. Gonzalez in the alley between E. Washington and E. Adams Streets.  We spoke initially about his commercial "triciclo" that he bought in Matamoros for 3,300 pesos or $250.

"I check the alleys late at night," Mr. Gonzalez stated, "especially behind H.E.B."

Mr. Gonzalez showed me his identification card from the Good Neighbor Settlement House, then posed for the picture below.

  1. Maybe we are missing the boat here, so to speak. The City should go all out to promote their trails as 'triciclo friendly' as well ! We could have hundreds of these 're-cyclers' scouring the trails and alleys to help keep the City nice and tidy since most of them are experts at 'la basura'!
I'm sure those eco-friendly types like the yuppie planners at CDCB and the hoards of world class cyclers, soon to be filling the streets of Browntown won't mind sharing their trails with the tricycle dudes! What a concept! Since we have become so eco-friendly why not?? We could become a mecca for world class cycling and re-cycling; all right here in River City!!
