Brownsville Ship Channel |
Intrigued by Juan Montoya's expose' on the Port of Brownsville's connection with stolen oil from Pemex, I started doing some research about the Jensen family, owners of Arroyo Terminals on 7.7 acres in Rio Hondo, where the so-called "waste oil" was diverted after going through our port.
68 year old James Laen Jensen and his wife Kelly Anne were initially arrested by federal marshals in their gaudy $9.2M mansion in Sandy, Utah, charged with smuggling over $300M of crude oil into the United States. Since their attorney described the pair as "deeply religious," I looked for references to their connection to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) and found such.

What the Jensens were buying was stolen oil and court documents indicate they've paid $47M to the cartels for what was the property of Mexico's national oil company, Pemex.
Pemex has long known about Jensen, having sued him back in 2011, fighting a tedious battle in court until 2013 to finally drop the suit. In the lawsuit, PEMEX claimed Jensen and two corporations he controlled, Big Star Gathering and St. James Oil, had purchased stolen natural gas condensate.
“At times, Jensen would travel to Mexico to arrange purchases from the cartels who had stolen the condensate,” according to the lawsuit.
It's a Jensen family business, buying stolen gas condensate and crude oil from the cartels, and it was two preppy sons, Maxwell and Zachary, who were recently arrested as part of the smuggling. Maxwell was held without bond, while Zachary had to shell out $10,000 cash on a $100,000 bond and is back at home in Utah subject to GPS monitoring. If convicted on the most serious charge, the boys face a 20 year imprisonment.
With respect to the theft of fuel from Pemex that crosses the border from Mexico into Texas, the government accuses the CJNG, the Sinaloa Cartel, La Familia Michoacana and the Gulf Cartel of being involved.
“The investigation, that began as a routine investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division of the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in Texas, has determined that this black market oil trafficking operation is the primary source through which foreign terrorist organizations finance their networks.”
It estimates that Mexico loses “tens of billions in tax revenue annually and is also costing U.S. oil and gas companies billions of dollars due to the decline in oil imports and exports over the same period.”
According to El Universal, a Mexican periodico, in April 2025 the Jensen family's Arroyo Terminals was obviously receiving huge quantities of "waste oil" via pipeline from barges at the Port of Brownsville, product the U.S. government knew was stolen from Pemex.
With the arrest of the elder Jensens in Utah and Zachary and Maxwell at Brownsville, the hypothesis was confirmed: a cross-border network was introducing stolen Mexican oil into the United States on a large scale, operating for at least three years with almost 2,881 illicit crude oil shipments since May 2022.

Maxwell Sterling and Zachary Golden Jensen arrested at Port of Brownsville |
Port officials including law enforcement need to be removed immediately. No way in Hell they didn't know this crude was stolen from Pemex This is exactly why Police Chief Dietrich is payed the big bucks. Crude comes in from Mexico after Pemex is robbed and dumbass Dietrich doesn't even check the cargo especially after this company has been used by Mexico??? And Steve Guerra, don't embarrass yourself by running for county judge as all this shit is gonna come out. What a rotten bunch of m****^uckers!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBut who checks all the containers, and what if the paperwork showed it was legit....The Port of Brownsville needs to establish a volunteer program so that each container is checked, take pictures, and follow the containers to their destination. If the Port of Brownsville cares about the country they will do it.
ReplyDeleteMaxwell Sterling Jensen is 25 years old. A father of five kids. He repents and will work in construction now. He tricked the supervisors at the Port of Brownsville. He used a label with WASTE OIL and paid lower taxes and lower fees. The containers were moved to Rio Hondo. From there they moved into the USA to sell the Crude Oil for big money. His grandfather had to help him with the bond money. The oil was stolen from Mexico for FREE and that is why Mexico is poor. This guy is tall, blonde and looks like a movie star, that is why nobody suspected he was a criminal. The people at the Port of Brownsville loved and admired him for being such a young hard working businessman.
ReplyDeleteWell good for you not being part of Frankie Olivo's nonsense. Poor McHale had to run from the story.
ReplyDeleteIf The Brownsville Observer got into the story, most teachers would be in prison, most administrators will be fired and parents will explode against the School Board. The Summer will be wild: protests, firings, demonstrations. Hey it was a minor abused by a grown up.
DeleteOscar Luebbert Gutierrez is the head of the group importing the stolen crud. He was awarded a lease at port by his nephew and port commissioner Ernesto Gutierrez and Steve Guerra. Ernesto Gutierrez’s father was also a Mexican subcontractor who was paid millions by port of Brownsville for the phantom bridge that cost local taxpayers 22 million. Ernesto Gutierrez and Steve Guerra are making themselves rich on the port illegally. Gutierrez has learned from his father and uncle how to extract money from port illegally.
