The above meme, was posted today by a friend of mine, Linda Rosevelt (her family's spelling). We worked together years ago with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), advocating for children in foster care.
Unfortunately, the meme is inaccurate. Hitler was responsible for the deaths of 6,000,000 Jews, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses and other groups, not 80,000,000. Yet, much to the chagrin of the MAGA true believers, the affinity of Donald Trump for Hitler is real, not fake.
Donald's first wife, Ivana Trump, died of blunt impact injuries after falling down the stairs at her home in Manhattan and she was buried in the tall grass of one of Trump's golf courses, Bedminster Golf Club in New Jersey.
Before Ivana's death, she told her attorney about Trump's fascination with Hitler, saying he kept a book of Hitler's speeches on a nightstand next to their bed.
During the 2024 campaign Trump referred to immigrants as "poisoning the blood of the country," a direct quote from Adolf Hitler. He also referred to them as "vermin," another word Hitler used to refer to non-white migrants he purged from Germany.
Trump's overt racism has been well documented, from 1973 when he and his dad blocked Blacks from their New York apartments, Trump's attempts to get the "Central Park Five," all Black men, executed despite their proved innocence, his birtherism conspiracy about Barack Obama, Trump's refusal to condemn ticky torch White Supremacy at Charlottesville and, of course, Trump's racism in opening his campaign for the presidency in 2015, riding down the escalator in Trump Tower, saying this about Mexican Nationals: "They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."
During the 2024 campaign, Trump referred to El Salvador, Haiti and African countries as "shitholes" and said about four Democratic congresswomen, three American born: "Why don't they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime-infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how its done."
So, no, Trump's crimes and racism do not reach the Hitler level, but to say he hasn't been shaped by Hitler's views or that he's not idolized Hitler and other "strong men" like Hitler, is simply not true. Trump has long admired Hitler just as he now wants to emulate the governing style of Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un, Viktor Orban and Xi Jinping.

Trump wants to be loved by the masses. Trump wants money. He is working hard to achieve his goals.
