Corruption oozes out of every pore of Donald Trump's body.  The man who duped, tricked and fooled America into voting him into a second term as President, including 52.5% of Cameron County, has no morals, ethics or principles, something not totally unexpected from a convicted felon. 

Every Trump enterprise has been fraudulent with hundreds of millions in judgements by a jury of his peers.  Trump Charities was shut down as a fraud.  Trump University was shut down as a fraud.  The Trump Organization was terminated as fraudulent with Trump barred from doing business in New York for the next 3 years.

While Trump's evil is being implemented in several directions at once, his perversion and overt weaponization of the Department of Justice is mind-blowing.  Trump's latest attempt to subvert justice has resulted in the top prosecutor in the District of Manhattan resigning, along with two senior officials in the Department of Justice.

Incredibly, Trump wants his interim head of the DOJ to drop the substantial case against New York Mayor Eric Adams so he can use Adams to aid in the deportation of migrants living in the city.  In other words: just like Ukraine, quid pro quo.  Everything Trump does is transactional.

Federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York, then led by U.S. attorney Damian Williams, charged Mr. Adams in a five-count indictment with conspiracy, wire fraud, soliciting illegal foreign campaign contributions from foreign nationals, and bribery. The indictment was the first against a sitting mayor in modern New York City history.

Over 57 pages, the indictment described a scheme that prosecutors said dated to 2014, when Mr. Adams became Brooklyn borough president. They accused him of currying favor with Turkish officials and wealthy foreign businesspeople while accepting at least $123,000 in flight upgrades and airline tickets.

Mr. Adams flew to France, China, Sri Lanka, China and elsewhere on Turkish Airlines, which is controlled by the Turkish government, without reporting the benefits as gifts on city disclosure forms, according to the indictment. He was accused of continuing the scheme after taking office as mayor in 2022.

In exchange, prosecutors said, Mr. Adams pressured the New York City Fire Department to speed the approval of a new 36-story Turkish consulate in Midtown Manhattan despite safety concerns ahead of a visit by the Turkish president in late 2021. Mr. Adams said he had only tried to help a constituent in that episode, the basis of the federal bribery charge.

And through “straw donors,” Mr. Adams also received foreign contributions from wealthy foreign businesspeople who were not legally permitted to give to his campaign, the indictment charged. By soliciting those illegal donations, Mr. Adams fraudulently obtained millions of dollars in public matching funds for his campaign, prosecutors said.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams said he met with President Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, on Thursday to prepare for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to resume operations on Rikers Island, which houses the city’s largest jail.

“Today, I met with ‘Border Czar’ Tom Homan and local federal law enforcement officials to discuss how we can work together to remove violent migrant gangs from our city,” Adams said in a statement.

                     

In a short memo, acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove said the DOJ reached the decision to dismiss the counts without assessing the strength of the case and indicated that the attorneys who filed the charges did nothing wrong.

Bove said the case “improperly interfered” with Adams’s 2025 mayoral campaign and alluded to the Trump administration’s efforts to end “weaponization” in the federal government as a reason to wind down the case. (The charges were brought nine months before Adams mayoral campaign.)

Bove also claimed that the pending prosecution “unduly restricted” Adams’s ability to focus on “the illegal immigration and violent crime that has escalated under the policies of the prior Administration.”

Shit.  Adams reminds us of corrupt Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, another "public servant" totally on the take.

Yet, even as Trump wants the charges against the New York mayor dropped, more criminal acts are being uncovered.

“We have proposed a superseding indictment that would add an obstruction conspiracy count based on evidence that Adams destroyed and instructed others to destroy evidence and provide false information to the FBI, and that would add further factual allegations regarding his participation in a  straw donor scheme,” Sassoon wrote.

Damn!

I'm certain we've had corrupt presidents in the past, but it's unlikely any have approached the level of criminality of Trump.  

                                                              

Hell, Trump in his first term unethically did over $160M in business with foreign governments with his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, getting a $2B infusion into his business from Saudi Arabia.  Trump loyalists are proud of Trump's claim that he forfeited his $400,000 salary as President, but that's never been verified and is unlikely.  In any event, that was peanuts compared to his profiteering from his office.

This time around, Trump 2.0, theres no pretence of ethics, no shame and Trump is removing the guard rails, the protections from corruption and malfeasance as fast as criminally possible.  

The Trump White House is totally "For Sale," but let's get rid of those evil, but hard working immigrants, who, according to Trump and J.D. Vance are "eating our cats and dogs," "raping" our women and "stealing our jobs."
