1400 Acres Texas Purchased in Starr County |
100 miles upriver from Brownsville lie 1400 acres in Starr County, recently purchased by the State of Texas as land to build detention centers and staging areas for Trump's mass immigrant deportation program.
Texas Land Commissioner, faux cowgirl Dawn Buckingham, involved in the land purchase, has announced Texas' plan to also build a portion of border wall along the Rio Grande River side of the property.

States Buckingham: "We've got a lot of violent criminals we need to round up and get the heck out of our country."
Well, actually Dawn, Texas does have 1.6M undocumented immigrants, second only to California's 1.8M, but their typical criminality is less than that of U.S. citizens.
Asked if he'd be interested in utilizing the acreage, Trump's proposed new border czar, Tom Homan, said "absolutely."
Trump's plans for a massive deportation of 11M immigrants have even excited our anti-immigrant governor, Greg Abbott, who's ordered more buoys and razor wire for the river.
To justify this drastic, unprecedented mass deportation, Trump handlers are citing the 1798 Alien Enemies Act, likely something white supremacist and Trump advisor Stephen Miller found on Wikipedia.
Thomas Jefferson |
Interestingly, Thomas Jefferson vehemently opposed that the Alien and Sedition Laws of 1798, thinking the government was becoming a tyranny that desired to govern with a "rod of iron."
Said Jefferson at the time: "The friendless alien has been selected as the safest subject of a first experiment, but the citizen will soon follow."
