IS RON DESANTIS QUICKLY TURNING FLORIDA INTO NAZI GERMANY?

 

The above cartoon was not difficult to find after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law Thursday a bill allowing the state's medical personnel to refuse to treat people they suspect of being part of the LGBTQ community.

The bill labeled the "Protections of Medical Conscience Act" is a vaguely worded bill allowing doctors, nurses and medical practitioners to refuse medical procedures, testing, diagnosis, therapy, medication, referrals, etc. to folks they assume are living a lifestyle that conflicts with their religious beliefs.

This approach is reminiscent of Nazi Germany's approach to homosexuals in the years leading up to World War II.

This comes on the heals of DeSantis signing House Bill #7 which essentially whitewashes history for classroom teaching, removing references to the suppression of Blacks including blocking voting rights, mob action initiated by the Klu Klux Klan such as the Ocoee Election Day Massacre, lynchings, etc.

This action is so similar to Nazi Germany's removal of all references to the holocaust in their country's classrooms post WWII.

As DeSantis moves Florida closer to fascism, we're reminded of already declared Republican candidate for the presidency, Donald J. Trump, who, as President in 2020, repeatedly refused to denounce White Supremacists and voiced support of the Proud Boys during and after the January 6 insurrection.
