WIGHTMAN VENTURES INTO BATSHIT TERRITORY

Bobby's Infamous "Baby Powder" Selfie

Blogger Bobby Wightman-Cervantes is an anomaly.

Sometimes his written words make sense.

More frequently, his intended point is lost in a convoluted, grammar-challenged collection of run on sentences, illogically presented.

Then, other times, like today, Bobby appears batshit crazy.

In today's column of the Brownsville Voice, Wightman chooses this subheading:

REPUBLICANISM IS A DISEASE WHICH MERITS ERADICATION.

Such an extremely partisan headline puts Bobby firmly in Tad Hasse territory.

Tad Hasse

Remember when Hasse, full-of-himself, feeling his oats in the Republican farm country north of Corpus Christi, called for "exterminating all Democratic cockroaches."

At the time, Cameron County's Republican voice of reason, Carlos Cascos, made this statement:

"Bigotry and/or racism is unacceptable. Period. Words matter. If in fact Tad used a word such as "exterminate" in the context as has been published, a public appology(sic) is warranted. I do not condone, support or accept any words, phrases or terms that are discriminatory against anyone."

Debate the issues all day long, but when you suggest "extermination" or "eradication" of people of another political party, you've ventured out into loony land and destroyed your credibility as a candidate or a blogger.

Likely, you're calling for the extermination or eradication of your neighbors, dentist, doctor, children or friends just because they profess a different political view than yours.

Wightman's next subheading also ventures into hyperbole:

LOCAL REPUBLICANS STAND WITH GENOCIDAL MANIAC GREG ABBOTT IN OPPOSING MASKS FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN

Wightman claims Carlos Cascos is "kissing the ring" of "genocidal maniac" Abbott by opposing masks for school children, but provides no proof Cascos said anything of the kind.

Actually, Cascos, on his Facebook page, says he personally is going to "mask up," so it's doubtful he's opposed to school children doing the same.

Anyway, Carlos Cascos does not run the schools.

In fairness to Wightman's story, Greg Abbott did issue a mask mandate ban aimed at the state's schools, but his message was not particularly well-timed as covid cases are surging again.  Like many Republican anti-vaxxers, he will have to change his tune.

History will not be kind to anti-vaccination politicians or to those calling the pandemic a "hoax."

Governor Greg Abbott knows exactly what his base WANTS to hear, but sometimes leadership demands speaking what constituents NEED to hear.

    2. The "I hate Trump" comments are designed to make those people who understood Trump was an incompetent president look like merely haters.

    6. I don't hate Trump personally. He's just a con man, a very effective one whose legal troubles will soon overtake. What I do hate is the damage he did to our country's institutions and the loss of international respect we suffered as a result of his incompetence and lack of understanding of the office.

    7. This is your opinion Jim. I think that Trump is the greatest President we've had since Reagan. Difference in opinion that's all. I think Biden is a very bad President and hurting our country but he's our President. I won't hate him or insult him because he's our President. That's the way it used to work. I can name many things that Trump did good for our country. Name one thing that Biden has done that's good for our country. Don't count the things that benefitted him, Hunter or the rest of his family. Stick to facts. Trump lives in the liberals mind and torments you 24/7 and he's not even President. Why are Democrats so afraid of him and hate him?

    8. I can't speak for Democrats. Trump lost me coming down the escalator to announce his candidacy, then uttering racist remarks. He then proceeded to run a disgusting campaign of insults and falsehoods against his Republican rivals, denigrating their spouses, fathers, mocking them personally. He's a great politician, but a horrible man. Many of his former administrators and cabinet officers left his administration with zero respect for his handling of the office. During his regime, our country lost immeasurable respect from alliances we'd carefully cultivated for decades. I've left out a lot, but Trump's most disgraceful, traitrorous act was in inciting of the January 6 insurrection which he now tries to spin as a "loving" incident. History will not be kind to this traitor.

    9. I don't hate Biden. I just think he's a con man. I think his entire family and he himself have benefitted financially from his position. As for his legal issues,he won't have any just like Hillary enriched herself and had no legal issues. If you and your family can go through life enriching yourself through politics and people keep electing you then who's the con man?

  2. Bobby's not wrong, GOP followers nowadays are like the doomed Japanese kamikaze in WWII. Filled with nationalist convictions, little guys ready to commit suicide if it helps the 'greater good' of the emperor. Except the Japanese emperor no longer exists. They died for nothing, for some dumbass psycho who wanted to watch men die for him. Like these GOP idiots, the Q people, refusing to be vaccinated, worshipping Trump, modern day Kamikazes.

  6. The blimp is by his admission a Christian Scientist follower. The church does not require that Christian Scientists avoid all medical care—adherents use dentists, optometrists, obstetricians, physicians for broken bones, and vaccination when required by law—but maintains that Christian Science prayer is most effective when not combined with medicine. This comes straight from their doctrine….. why does the blimp abuse the VA system so much then? And if he is a Christian, he should know that Jesus, promotes peace, love and respect for all….. yet he uses his site to promote hate to those that don’t follow his warped way of thinking… thank God!! If the blimp promotes hate and vengeance and wishing ill on others… he is no Christian at all. No sir.

    1. Your view of Christianity doesn't sync with history. World Wars I & II were started and primarily fought in Christian countries, killing over 130,000,000 people. The Crusades were another, bloody, ugly era for Christianity. Even today, the predominantly Christian U.S. has 17 times the murder per population of Buddhist, Shinto Japan.

  7. Christians have been the most persecuted in History. What are you talking about? World war 1 and 2 being fought in primarily Christian countries does not mean Christians started the war, does it? Even to this day, countries like India and China persecute Christians…. Burning churches and doing away with anything having to do with Christ! Israel who the U.S. politicians bend over for and help blindly, require that if you want to be a citizen of Israel, you have to denounce your religion and concert to Jewish. That means to denounce Christ, if you are Christian…. The devil is at work.

    1. Christians, Buddhists, Muslims and other religions have all faced persecution. Christian sects fled to the U.S. after being victimized by other Christians in Europe. Meanwhile, Christians migrating to North America from Europe committed evil atrocities against indigenous people already living there. During the Crusades, Christian soldiers baptized heathens an the point of a sword, then promptly executed them as their "baptism" guaranteed a resurrection. And, yes World Wars I & II were fought mostly by Christians who were the majority populations of Germany, France, Italy and the United States. Christian churches have historically fomented and reinforced racial prejudice and homophobia, both evil. The world prisons are filled with Christians. What I'm saying is Christianity does not make people better, but, frequently provides them with justification for the evil they commit.

  8. Wightman, a local buffoon, claims to be document driven but he often makes assertations that are unsupported by any evidence or by a convoluted stretch of the imagination. He reaches conclusions that would injure most people considering the contortions it takes to reach them. He claims to love the people but hate the city. Who does he think makes up the city (hint to Bobby... it's the people). Just another carpet bagger come to town to tell us how stupid we are, everything we do wrong and how to do it right. Remember when he was done with blogging? That lasted what, two days? Remember during the past year he was no longer going to blog on things Brownsville? I think his plan was to spread his vaunted documented wisdom over the rest of the country. That lasted.... well, it never happened. He can not leave us alone. He claims he is moving but he never leaves.
