IS GBIC REALLY CONSIDERING ANOTHER INDUSTRIAL PARK?

New GBIC Board

After watching the GBIC Board for years being unduly influenced by the unscrupulous Jason Hilts, it's refreshing the see an alert, active, studious board now in place.

New board members like Dennis Sanchez, Graham Sevier-Schultz, Jason Wolfe and Sandra Duran are not afraid to question, while Board Chairman Esteban Guerra provides steady leadership.

Pedro Cardenas's absenteeism remains an issue.

At last night's meeting, there was some talk about converting a large plot of land near FM 511 into an industrial park.

Surely, the board is aware the City of Brownsville taxpayers funded an industrial park nine years ago that's never been utilized.  We wrote this some time back:

"The North Brownsville Industrial Park, $4.2 million spent, 11 sites with full utilities, last saw action at its ribbon-cutting in 2011.

Knowledgeable truckers utilize the space as a free overnight parking stop when coming in or out of Brownsville."

  1. Trump only cares what is in it for him. His policies are based on fear, hate, control, power, greed and corruption. Trump knows the minute he leaves office is the minute his world as he knows it will fall down. Indictments will be waiting for him and his crime family. And Trump knows it.

His greatest fear appears to be that one or two Republicans will turn on him, and that could trigger a flood of defections. That will not go down well.

  2. Trump and his toadies have the attention span of a gnat. Trump is not being impeached because of Hunter Biden. He is being impeached because he withheld aid to an ally for political gain. Funny that no Republicans can defend trump on the facts. All they have is " well, what about (fill in the blank)?" The Republicans held the house and senate for two years. Yet, not a single democrat has been brought up on a single charge. I guess the whole lock them up thing was like Mexico will pay for the wall.

  4. Nationally, we are currently running an experiment on ourselves, except we long ago lost any control over how it's conducted. We traded our lab coats in to become the rats. There is a man named Trump who appears to be in cognitive decline, who does not read and who gets all of his information from the TV screen — he admitted here that he watched Fox News for FIVE hours (!) yesterday — in charge of the country. He seems legitimately unable to parse what is true and what is false, because it does not occur to him that it would matter. All information is judged on a single criterion: Is it good for me, or is it bad for me? Do they like me, or do they not like me? This is insanity. The contours of reality cannot be bent forever to prop up one loud grandpa's fragile self-conception. Eventually the bend will become a break, and it's all of us—the whole nation—who will fall into the void.

    1. Sounds like you've got Trump Derangement Syndrome. Try beating him at the polls instead of constantly whining and complaining. So much hate gets old after awhile.

    2. He was beaten at the "polls." Trump lost the popular vote by more than 3 million votes to Hillary. Russians rigged the election and you know it. Settling for a clown will eventually cost you big time. The deranged ones are you in the Trump Cult!

    3. I don't have the time to explain the difference between the popular vote and the electoral college to you. I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

    4. Oh, I understand it all too-well. It is an anachronistic, rather racist bureaucratic sideshow. My point went to actual voters, your neighbors from coast to coast. More voted against Trump than for him. Should I keep going to make you understand?

    5. Beautifully explained! The sad part is that not matter how it’s explained, some people (trumpers) still don’t understand it.

  6. Once more stuff comes (and history has shown it will), Trump will bail for medical reasons (he has laid the groundwork), cry like a bitch and his successor will pardon him. He will try to start his own TV network, but everyone will be so tired of him by that time (even his own peeps) and TrumpTV will go the way of many of his other failed endeavors.

Many years ago Mickey Mantle almost hit a ball entirely out of Yankee Stadium (which has never been done). Hundreds of thousands claimed to have been there even though the old stadium held around 57,000 people. When Trump goes it will be just the opposite, zillions of people will have claimed to have never liked him and will disown him. Even Hannity.

  8. Trump is guilty of fraud, money laundering, tax evasion, insurance fraud, obstruction of justice, conspiracy against the United States, and sexual assault. He has attacked our allies and praised our enemies. Seven of his aides have been convicted of felonies. He has praised Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un, and Roy Moore. Trump is a criminal president.
