PRIOR COMMITMENT PREVENTS MAYOR MARTINEZ FROM APPEARING ON TODAY'S "WHINE WITH CHEEZ" PODCAST

From the editor:  Today's planned "Whine with Cheez" podcast, involving the three mayoral candidates, will proceed without participation by Mayor Tony Martinez.  

 We received a message last night from Sandra Saenz, one of the mayor's aides, that Tony will be in Houston for a rehearsal for a commencement address he is due to give June 1 at Cristo Rey Jesuit School.

 Candidates Trey Mendez and Charlie Cabler have both confirmed their appearance on today's podcast.

    Better for him, he might get so angry he would blow a gasket or something and that would be really bad.

    Tony Martinez doesn't want to debate because his failures as mayor might be brought up. His lack of leadership and poor management might be challenged. No one rehearses a commencement speech...

    I respect Tony for not showing up. Erasmo is a horrible person and I would never vote for anyone who bends to his will. It is pathetic how many people in the city have dismissed all the bad he’s done prior. Just because he lost weight doesn’t magically make him a good person. He is disgusting. Tony had my vote for sure. The only candidates with the guts not to kiss up to that vile human. And shame on you for aiding this horrendous person.
