Duardo Paz-Martinez and Bobby Wightman-Cervantes, both elderly bachelors, notorious for bloody internet catfights with no declared winner, have joined laptops to defame Hasse, Brownsville's resident nerd, scoutmaster and I-Tech guru for the City of Brownsville.
Duardo Martinez may be less familiar, with a dozen or more discontinued blogs opining on affairs in Harlingen and Brownsville, currently working his magic on The Brownsville Republic of McAllen, an obscure site with a tiny readership.
Duardo did his due diligence. He researched the Hasse name, finding it to be of German origin. "Neo-Nazi" was one of the carefully selected adjectives used by "journalist" Duardo to describe Tad.
Blogger Duardo then proceeded to attempt an "interview" with Mr. Hasse via Facebook inboxing with juvenile questions like:

OK. "Journalist" Duardo equated Mr. Hasse's "silence" or lack of response to his juvenile questions, with racism.
Actually, the vast majority of Brownsville politicians Duardo has attempted to "interview" via Facebook have ignored him. He's simply irrelevant in this town. That does not make them racists, simply prudent.
Bobby Wightman-Cervantes, who has made no secret of his fondness for Hasse's opponent for SBOE, District 2, Ruben Cortez and his mother, Linda Salazar, a Justice of the Peace, seized on Duardo's charge of racism and has now verified the assertion on his blog:
I immediately went to the account and it was closed to me and locked. So I immediately sent both of Duardo's articles to the Corpus Christi Caller Times alleging they failed in their due diligence before endorsing Hasse. I asked that they communicate with him for his side of the story, and if verified to do the right thing and pull the endorsement.
Well I have waited for anyone to come to Hasse' defense or for Hasse to deny the claims. I think Duardo's claim that Hasse's silence verifies the claims made by Duardo is now accurate.
So now we wait to see if the publisher of the Caller Times retracts their endorsement or let it stand. Hasse is free to give them access to the twitter account to get to the truth of the matter. But his silence is telling."
So Bobby uses Hasse's "silence" or refusal to answer Duardo's juvenile questions and Tad's locked twitter account as evidence that Tad Hasse is racist?
Hmmmmmmmm.

I'm not a legal expert like Bobby Wightman-Cervantes or a blogger vagabond like Duardo Paz-Martinez, but I have considerably more life experience than either man.
A charge of racism is difficult to defend against just like a charge of being a bad father. Anger or rhetoric mean nothing in defense. You just have to live your life. Some will see you as something you're not. Most will recognize your inner core.
This is what I tried to explain to Rafael Collado, one of Brownsville most articulate writers, a native of Mexico. He, too, viewed Hasse as a racist because of his political views and support of Donald Trump.
Yes, I told Rafael, Tad is a Republican, a Trump supporter. That doesn't, in itself, make him racist.
Tad has worked for the City of Brownsville for nearly three decades. He is beloved, as a problem solver and as a person by co-workers 90% Hispanic.
I've personally observed him dealing with locals willing to perform public service in lieu of jail time. He is not condescending and DOES NOT assign them to toilet cleaning. Hasse deals with these public service citizens as equals, respectfully and graciously.
If you, like Duardo and Bobby, think Tad Hasse is a racist, think again!

That is like saying if I quote from a Conservative paper in a positive light I am no longer a classically trained socialist. How does this statement by me mean I was incorporating Duardo's questions? It is pure fiction on your part. I waited and searched for Tad to deny the claims. He has you and Montoya backing him and I waited for a response so I could have the full context. This has nothing to do with Duardo's questions. Of note Hasse never answered the question about slave v. guest worker, and in your post you do not deny he said these things. Both posts hurt Tad. It is commendable you want to defend a friend, but when you outright lie about what other people have actually said you are not helping him. People who know me know I was a strong critic of Ruben Cortes while on the BISD board based on my research and facts. Your claims about my relationship with Judge Salazar are bizarre. I successfuly file a judicial complaint on her. I deal in facts, and people who know my no sacred cow policy is why people always accuse me of changing sides. I am not changing sides. I am reporting without a bias for one side or the other. What is so wrong with me asking the Caller Times to verify if the claims are true? Not even you deny the claims. Hasse opens his twitter account to the Caller times and if Duardo lied the truth comes out and Tad looks good. How is calling for getting to the truth of the matter a bad thing? Jim, I get and repect your loyalty to a friend. That is a good thing. But lying about what I said only made you and Hasse look bad. Because of your friendship with Hasse I get why you support him. So no hard feelings.

Accusing me of being anti Joshua aka Jesus because I ask the Caller Times to get to the truth of the matter is a sick accusation by a sick person which is why the little weasel was too cowardly to say what he tried to post. If Tad Hasse wants to say the claims are false that is his best defense, But lying about what I said only makes him look pathetic and desperate.

You know you accepted Edward’s premise just because Hasse was silent. We can read. We didn’t need a Black’s law dictionary to comprehend it either.
Pendejo, Hasse has Edward blocked. I found the claim on Jerry’s Facebook account from last month. The typing monkey is the kind of person a lot of people would block.
So why am I blocked. I did not know he even had a twitter account. You need to learn to read I accept the claim of the offensive twitter comments. Even in my approved posts to my story I deleted every claim making Hasse out as a racist. I allowed for one related to women because I found his comments about the Russian women offensive. And of note can you point us to anywhere were Hasse has denied the claims? I do not see them anywhere.

ReplyDeleteNo you are wrong, some of the comments were about women. Racism is not black and white anymore. It is a difficult word to use. I have said many times I get why Supreme Court Justice Thomas opposes affirmative action as someone of African descent. He puts forth a plausable argument. This does not make him a racist. You can be concerned with such things as affirmative action and be far from a racist. You can be concerned with labels as something which needlessly separates us and not be a racist. So you can pretend all you want the comments about women were not said but it does not change reality. The BV will certainly post as a free standing post Hasse's denial he said these things. Last week I went after the Hearld for the ad on coupons. I found it offensive to women. I found the alleged comments by Hasse offensive to women. It is really that simple. So lie all you want. Hasse is not helping himself. I believe in history, so I had stood to keep the confederate history alive. This does not make me or anyone else a racist. It is a pathetic argument. You anny trolls just love to say things to stir things up. Of note I have rejected every comment accusing Hasse as being a racist. I find it interesting the issue is his offensive comments, and the retort is to use vulgarities towards my through some of these posts while asking us to believe this is not how Hasse thinks. Facebook profiles can be open for everyone to see or only for friends. Twitter is similar. It’s his choice how he wants his personal account protected.
