"Hey, Look at Me! I'm Michelle, Candidate for TBOE, District 2"

Dr. Michelle Arevalo Davila
This blog can't take credit for introducing Dr. Michelle Arevalo Davila as a Democratic candidate for the Texas Board of Education, District 2.

She injected herself into the discussion, after noticing the Brownsville Observer mentioning Tad Hasse, Ruben Cortez and longshot Eric Garza as candidates, not aware the Mathis resident had also filed for the position.

Our sense of fairness was in play as we later announced her candidacy in a subsequent article, even reposting her initial blog comments.

Now, Michelle is stating her resolve to totally disengage from this blog, citing profanity by some commenters and, even worse, claims that bogus comments were made in her name.

We reprint Michelle's final comment to this blog:

Dr. Michelle Arevalo Davila, January 2, 2018 at 8:04 PM

The very last comment I made was "Taking the high road. God bless all of you and I wish you a wonderful 2018."

I have not posted a single word (other than this) since then.

I don't care for the language or behaviors of this site. Whoever is posting under my name, please stop. And if you see another comment responding to any of these idiotic monologues, then please assume that someone is typing under a false name.

I made a huge mistake in ever engaging this site in the first place. Lesson learned. By all means, continue arguing. But I will not participate.

So whoever Bobby WC is, you wrote an entire 3 paragraphs to someone posing as me. Although, I must admit whoever was pretending to be me did a good job. I hate the c- word. But I would never put it in print. That is beneath me.

I'm glad I checked back on this page to see if there were any more attacks on my character. I wouldn't have known that there are people posting under my name.

That's too bad. You should be yourself, not an imitation of anyone else.

  1. Dr. Mika won’t get better fair coverage than on the Brownsville Observer in the entire 17 countywide district. It’s a shame she disengaged herself from the BO. Hopefully the jealousy some of those commenters have towards a wise Latina and your well respected, widely read blog won’t completely scare her off from the Brownsville Observer. We need to learn more about her here, since she’s not from around here.

    3. Everyone knows here in CC that Mika got her Doctorate from a degree mill. When CCISD heard about it they bumped her back to teaching. Everyone whose worked with her says she is a pushy bitch through and through. So glad that bitchy tyrant isn’t in education anymore!

    4. ^ written by the immature Farenthold Garza boys, nasty as usual. "Bitch" "Bitchy" very classy guys.
Tad Hassee, a mature adult, will win the Republican nomination easily against these angry little trolls.

  2. It's strange to me that you feel a candidate should fight for coverage on your blog. She was one of 4 candidates running for SBOE, the other 3 males received coverage, why is she alone responsible for making sure her name is mentioned too? When to be quite frank, out of all of them, she is the most qualified?

  3. She doesn’t have to fight. She was simply overlooked because guess what? The others are from Cameron County. They were known candidates. She literally came out of Nowhereville, Texas. Give Jim a break. How was he supposed to know she was a whiner.

    1. You mean, how was he supposed to know there was a 4th candidate in this race beside the local yokels? A 4th candidate who happened to have degrees and decades of experience in public education? It's public information, and easy to find. But ok. The Brownsville yokels who were running forgot to mention they were running against an experienced teacher and candidate with a doctorate in education, master in science, multiple certifications, of course. I mean, who would remember to mention that? But now we all know, so.

    2. “Local yokels” is a very Coastal Bend thing to say. Wouldn’t you agree, Dr. Mika?

    3. Doubt it. She signs her name to stuff, Garza.

  4. Her "Dr" title makes her look dumb, there are many of those EDD & PHD but what we need is a real game changer not just a person who feels is over qualified just for the Dr title. Learn from Trump.
