Under Cover of Hurricane Harvey, Trump Pardons Lawless Sheriff Joe Arpaio

Empathy, that trait of understanding what it would feel like to be in someone else's shoes, is lost on President Trump, way beyond his understanding.

The narcissistic Trump turns almost every issue inward, highlighting how it affects him, oblivious to the comfort level of others, let alone their civil rights.

Trump is incapable of putting himself in the place of someone dealt with differently than white Americans because of the color of their skin, ethnicity or dialect.

Donald simply can't understand that racial profiling is discrimination, a clear violation of civil rights.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio
That's why Trump said Sheriff Joe was "convicted for doing his job."  It didn't hurt that Sheriff Joe, like Trump, was an early bird in the so-called birther movement, claiming Barack Obama wasn't born in the United States, thus unqualified to be president. Yes, Trump and Joe Arpaio, two racists in a pod.

As an obviously white man, I don't pretend to understand how a Hispanic family feels pulled over for questioning by a racist white sheriff because they look "Mexican."  But, I'm trying to empathize, something President Trump and former Sheriff Joe are incapable of doing.

Arpaio consistantly ignored a 2011 court order to stop profiling Hispanics.

As Judge Susan Bolton explained:  “Not only did Defendant abdicate responsibility, he announced to the world and to his subordinates that he was going to continue business as usual no matter who said otherwise,” she wrote.

Cecillia Wang, deputy legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union and one of the lawyers in the suit against Mr. Arpaio , said the verdict “is a vindication for all the victims of his illegal stops and detentions whose constitutional rights were violated.”

Donald Trump hinted at his Phoenix campaign event that he would soon pardon Arpaio, his conviction:  "I won't do it tonight because I don't want to cause any controversy, but Sheriff Joe can feel good."

Tonight, as category 4 Hurricane Harvey was threatening the eastern coast of Texas, Trump cowardly slipped in his pardon of Arpaio.

Zero empathy.

  2. Wanna talk a real racist? Wanna write about a racist who is accusing Cascos of it then exposes himself? This guy is getting his ass kissed by Jerry McHale, who also is slamming Cascos for his statue comments but THIS is who he promotes?

Duardo Paz on Mexicans and the disabled:

    "Duardo Paz-Martinez
Hec, flawed-Brown retards like you don't move me. You "New American" sumbitches are a dime-a-dozen in town. And, as they say, the masa in the Border Familial Tamale never sleeps. Can't seem to stay away, eh? You have to yell at me. Can't just watch me walk by. By the way, are you impaired?...If you are, and you exhibits the vocabulary of a Mongoloid, well, I APOLOGIZE..."

When finding out his target's brother has Down Syndrome he said:

    Duardo Paz-Martinez
"Hector Cascos, well, go take care of that poor Mongo Kid, Goddammit! And then go and Phuck yourself, you lifeless loser. Uncouth, balding, roly-poly, fat-faced Mexicans like you give the rest of us a bad name. Now scoot...Andale,Andale!!!"

  3. The Trump presidency has been the most shocking and awful in modern American history, with the president threatening nuclear war, saying that “fine people” march alongside Nazis, implementing a “Muslim ban.”

But Trump’s pardon of former sheriff Joe Arpaio is the worst, most dangerous, and most terrifying of all his antics.

  4. I wish we had 100 Joe Arapio's in the Valley. Instead we have corrupt Hispanic law enforcement. The problem is this society identifies itself with mexico instead of the rest of the United States.
