    With all due respect to a find gentlemen and congressman, but obviously his decision was personal and not on behalf of our country. The failure to stand united sends the wrong message to our adversaries and the nation. I am sorry our congressman chose to protest at an inappropriate time.

      Well said Pat . But he still lost my vote. His earlier Ass comment and then his spoiled brat attitude shows a true lack of decorum and class. We are impoverished here in brownsville and need all the support we can garner from our government. His current approach has been polarizing and does not present us in good light.

    I remember him at a debate when he first ran for office. His body language said it all. He was all slouched over and looked bored out of his mind. He did not want to be there. He could have at least sat up straight. That told me all I needed to know. No respect for the office or constituency, I was right.

    Vela is a joke who seems to always need media attention . Where was his outrage when the 3 U.S. citizens were killed by Matamoros Security Forces? Where was his "boycott " when they had their meeting at Rancho Viejo? Vela doesn't give a fuck about anyone but himself . Ugh!
