Fiesta Supermarket to Occupy Old K-Mart Building At Sunrise Mall

We've just heard a delicious rumor; that Fiesta Supermarket will open a store in the building currently occupied by K-Mart at Sunrise Mall.

Fiesta Supermarkets, originally founded in Houston in 1972, currently has 60 stores in Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and Austin.
The stores are designed with an "open market" concept, appealing to Hispanics, but also other carry foods familiar to other ethnicities. The stores are noted for having a "fiesta" atmosphere.
Brownsville, seemingly, is underserved by the food chains, especially after the departure of Kroger and Albertsons and the decline of several locally owned grocery stores.
H.E.B., headquartered in San Antonio and Walmart, out of Bentonville, Arkansas, currently dominate the local grocery market share.

    Here in Houston Fiesta is an expensive store I don't go food shopping no way jose!!!

      Could be. This is just a rumor. There are several possibilities. Two or more companies could be interested, but negotiations can and frequently do, break down. Ernesto Gamez, the now-retired COB permit officer, stated emphatically at a GBIC meeting that Kirkland's was moving into the space next to Staples. That never happened. Fiesta to the old K-Mart building or Sorianna may never happen either.

    They been spreading that rumor for months hope it's true and we will see the turn out I just do hope they have motor chairs for the disabled people
