DeleteAt one time, a number of states required a literacy test in order to vote. It would be a wonderful idea to return to this requirement. Of course that would reduce potential voter participation in Brownsville to around 50%.

Well let me tell you a secret: The “gringo” and the American dollar are not available anymore! We Americans earn our dollars though hard work, like everybody else.
These South American illegals should stay in Mexico. Mexico has Pemex, the third-largest oil-producing nation in the world, behind only Venezuela and the Arab nations. Why come to America?
The reason is simple. We “gringos” are soft. Too many lazy Americans are now on food stamps, public housing, free school lunch programs, get free school supplies, etc. As we are going, soon we will get gasoline cards for free fill-ups, all for the so-called “poor.” We taxpayers pay for it, big time!
The stupid, soft-hearted gringos, as we are known in Matamoros and other border towns, are dumb enough to let our federal government — politicians, mostly Democrats — public officials, give our tax dollars away to non-appreciative countries, like Santa Claus on Christmas Day.
The word is out among sickly, poor and ignorant people with small children who will crowd our schools, welfare offices, housing, barrios and clinics, panhandling with diseases, etc.
The word among these groups is: Just cross the low river, let the Border Patrol, “los verdes,” catch you so they can find you a shelter center with cots, food, showers, etc. The Border Patrol is supposed to protect us Americans, not pander to these lawbreakers. There go our American tax dollars.
As a truthful American patriot, I have always supported our men and women in green — not anymore!
Not even our men and women in green or our border protectors are with us Americans’ ideology. Now this socialistic “give me, give me” philosophy is out of control. Now our “river protectors” are finding shelter places for these lawbreakers.
Soon, even Catholic nuns will be involved. Nuns, keep your hands on the rosary, not on this mess!
Americans, get your guns and rifles ready, before it’s too late.
Americans, do not pander or give anything to these foreign invaders, because more will come, you can be assured.
Lock your doors and keep a gun on the side, because if you don’t, your name will be in the obituary section of our newspaper.
We cannot be an easy target for these invaders. Say your rosary, but keep a gun loaded.
