Downtown parking garage for what? They already killed downtown, who's going to use the parking space?
ReplyDeleteThe assholes are betting to University Campus,, but they failed to realize that 80 % of students are locals, and live at their parents homes, Downtown will never be the University students magnet they had foolishly been dreaming about.
Coming 20?? another empty parking garage.
ReplyDelete* shrug *
ReplyDeletePerhaps they will build a structure which can serve, in the absence of cars, as a homeless shelter and refugee shelter for illegals. Or, for Rose Zavaleta Gowen....a bike parking lot. Haven't the city commissioners looked outside their office doors recently....other than Mexican nationals and shop owners, and city employees, there are no cars downtown. And while we take up a traffic lane on 6th St. for bicycles, the bicycle lanes on Paredes Line Rd and other streets with bike lanes are used for parking, turning and waiting. Don't any of our officials ever drive around town.....while they are pondering stupid decisions. Hey, Rose, why not close off the streets downtown and cause people to walk....that burns off fat too.
ReplyDeleteDowntown will never be the sixth street in Austin! The old people here make the young feel uncomfortable!!! The old people here are leftovers from the Hippy Era
