Democratic U.S. Senate Candidate Kesha Rogers, Shunned by County Democratic Party, Shares Message Locally

U.S. Senate Candidate Kesha Rogers is spending a few days in the Rio Grande Valley, spreading a message she shares with longtime political candidate and economist Lyndon LaRouche, that President Obama should be impeached immediately and Wall Street bankrupted with a reinstatement of the Glass-Steagall Act.

"How is your call for Obama to be impeached accepted in the African-American community?" was my question to Rogers, herself a 37 year old African- American from Houston.

"Well, it's better accepted now, than at first.  Obama currently has a 37 per cent approval rating, so, many people are not happy with his performance as President," Rogers stated.  (Of course, among African Americans, that approval rating would likely be much higher.)

"Is Obama the first President you've wanted impeached?" I asked.

"Oh, no.  I called for the impeachment of George W. Bush and (Vice President) Dick Cheney," replied Rogers.

The articulate Ms. Rogers, a 2001 graduate of Texas State University, fielded questions with ease in our Wednesday morning interview.  Former Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy are her political heroes, because they fought against British imperialism.  She views British Queen Elizabeth, her husband Prince Philip and son, Prince Charles, as real threats to the United States.

When I stated that I viewed Queen Elizabeth as an old lady who drank tea and her husband, Prince Phillip, as a man who simply walked three steps behind her, Rogers whipped out a chart detailing the vast control of the old British empire. British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, initially wanted a concord with Adolph Hitler, Rogers explained, but was persuaded by President Roosevelt to oppose Hitler's push to control Europe.

"Are there any of the teachings of Lyndon LaRouche with which you disagree?"  I asked.  Ms. Rogers pondered for a moment.  She was sure there were some areas of disagreement, but she couldn't think of any at that moment.

Then, pointing to her husband, Ian Overton, and another associate, I asked:  "Do you ever disagree with these folks on political issues?"

"We had a political disagreement just this morning," her husband stated.

Rogers states that Obama has been dismissive about technology available to destroy asteroids before they enter the earth's atmosphere.  Global warming, CO2 emissions into the atmosphere are not legitimate scientific issues in Roger's view.

Rogers, who Sunday gave "musical testimony" at a Brownsville church, is scheduled to appear at the monthly meeting of the local Tea Party at Antonio's Restaurant on Paredes Line Road at 6:30 PM Wednesday night.

Efforts to meet with Cameron County Democratic officials have been rebuffed.  "Amber won't meet with me," stated Rogers, in reference to Cameron County Democratic Chair, Amber Medina.  Rogers suspected this was due to the influence of Gilberto Hinojosa, the Texas State Democratic Chair, who has tried to undermine the Rogers candidacy.

Rogers finished 2nd among 5 candidates in the Texas Democratic Primary March 4, 2014.  She faces millionaire David Alameel in the May 27 runoff election.

  2. Isn't this a Lyndon Larouche candidate? Did she forget to actually wear her tin foil hat? Doesn't the Larouche PAC blame (no joke) the British Monarchy for all societal ills? These are the same fools that have been protesting outside the post office wielding a large poster of the president sporting a Hitler moustache. I think you're great, Jim, but interviewing this lady is quite like lending credence to the goofballs that claim chem trails are deploying nanites to infest our children with alien invasion compliance plans.

    2. You mean TV didn't tell you to vote for her? You mean that she isn't part of the same club that is ruining this country? You mean she isn't part of the same club who only care about themselves, make laws to profit for themselves, and make more laws that do not apply to them?

Holy crap! Why don't people get that by voting over and over for the same sacks of crap, you will actually improve things? How can you not get that?

  3. Barton, you gloss over this LaRouche dude. This from Wikipedia: "LaRouche established contacts with Willis Carto's Liberty Lobby and elements of the Ku Klux Klan in 1974. Frank Donner and Randall Rothenberg wrote that he made successful overtures to the Liberty Lobby and George Wallace's American Independent Party, adding that the "racist" policies of LaRouche's U.S. Labor Party endeared it to members of the Ku Klux Klan. George Michael, in Willis Carto and the American Far Right, says that LaRouche shared with the Liberty Lobby's Willis Carto an antipathy towards the Rockefeller family. The Liberty Lobby defended its alliance with LaRouche by saying the U.S. Labor Party had been able to "confuse, disorient, and disunify the Left".

And you should know that this Rogers woman is seen as a candidate going nowhere. You give her way too much credit, which makes you look like a reporting greenhorn.

  6. That “Fake Democrat” can speculate under her tin foil hat all day long. She will never be on target as to why the county Democratic Party shunned her.. and rightly so. She saddles up to the GOP/Teaparty as their token minority paid to confuse those who are easily misdirected. No matter what this misguided woman thinks or Jim likes to imply about Hinojosa's influence over our current party....they are both wrong. The Cameron County Democratic Party has an agenda and this idiot is not on it. The CCDP is under no obligation to entertain this Fake Democrat who portrays our POTUS as Hitler. That just proves her lunacy. We don't entertain lunatics, unlike some amongst us.

  7. Teresa as a die hard baby butcher democrata you have some nerve to disparage Ms Rogers. As a proponent of infanticidal genocide is a pretty horrific extreme position to support and who BTW obama voted in favor of legalizing infanticide when he was a state senator. FYI Hitler caused genocide against the minorities and disabled, now we do it legally through abortion. So it's not really "lunacy" to compare obama with Hitler isn't it.

  8. Doesn't sound like Democrat ideals to me. I would keep my distance Jim. Im not surprised the Dem party wants nothing to do with her.

  9. Again, shows the Dumbokratic Party is a party of "exclusion", not a party of "inclusion". Here again, seems that Gilberto Hinojosa and his budz are going with the money......while the party disparages the GOP for doing the same.

  10. Yeah, like you have any credibility Anonymous May 7, 2014 @ 11:42...So much so, you are too cowardly to sign your name. Your words do not bother me. You hide in the dark. I stand up in the light of day for my convictions unlike you.

I am PRO-CHOICE and proud of it. So what? I believe in a woman's right to chose for herself regarding a very private decision that is none of your business or the churches nor the states. I also believe in keeping religion out of politics.

By the way, you are right on one thing and only one thing... I have a whole lot of nerve. Deal with it or get over it. Either way, your problems with me, are yours, not mine. My life is grand.

A racists....LOL Now you funny too!

  11. I thought democRATS were proponents for "Diversity of Thought"? Democrats are just a bunch of hypocrites. Jim I do commend you for giving voice to different points of views even if you agree or not. A true journalist should always remain neutral, report the news as is, all points of view and let the viewer/reader decide. My hats off to you Mr. Barton.
