Anonymous Commenter(Sylvia?) Tries to Put Distance Between Herself and Politiquera Aunt Herminia Becerra

Sylvia Garza-Perez
If Sylvia Garza-Perez' abbreviated term as Cameron County Democratic Party Chairperson was an audition for higher office, she flunked miserably, leaving the local party operations in a total shambles.

At the October 24, 2013 party meeting, William Skaggs, after he was installed as party treasurer, announced to the local party:  "People, we are broke.  After 100 years of the party operating in this county, I was only given 6 bank statements, a light bill and a phone bill."

Sylvia Garza-Perez, showing up 20 minutes late to the meeting, raised her hand to comment:  "If we don't pay the light and phone bill soon, they will be disconnected."

Longtime Democratic Party operative Larry Jokl, owner of the building where the Democratic Party met under Garza-Perez, quickly lost patience with the group's laggard financial ways and put a chain lock on the building and posted an eviction notice for nonpayment of rent.

Not only were the party's financials in a mess under Sylvia, but party organization was nonexistent. Newly-elected Chairwomen Amber Medina quickly noted that, out of 109 precincts, 60 did not even have a party chair.  Only a handful of people attended party meetings.  After nearly two years of "leadership" by Sylvia Garza-Perez, the Cameron County Democratic Party was in financial and organizational disarray.

Despite this miserable resume', Sylvia Garza-Perez, first decides to run for County Judge, but is finally persuaded to run for County Clerk.  Based on her performance as county chairperson, can you imagine her handling critical county financial, personal and professional documents?

Aunt Herminia with Politiquera
Margarita Ozuna
Recently, an anonymous commenter took exception to our mention of the fact that Sylvia Garza-Perez is the niece of Cameron County's most notorious politiquera, Herminia Becerra.  Actually, we've heard reports over the years indicating that Sylvia's ties to the work of politiqueras are more than familial. But, in any case, here is the comment made by the anonymous commenter, attempting to distance Sylvia Garza-Perez from Aunt Herminia:

"Mean Mister Brownsville why is that when you mention Herminia you have to mention Sylvia ? Herminia doesn't like Sylvia, they have disliked each other for almost two decades . Jared H was trying to use the " Aunt Herminia " against Sylvia for Democrat Chair and we all know how that ended . The Cyber politicos are Brownsville ' s new problem . They spread rumors and attack candidates that don't play ball with them.Hail Mean Mister Brownsville the Queen of Cyber Politicos !

P.s. Juan Montoya is the King"

We know nothing about the actual relationship between Sylvia Garza-Perez and Aunt Hermina Becerra.  All we know is we want Aunt Herminia no where near the voters and Niece Sylvia no where near any political office in Cameron County.

  1. Sylvia made a deal with Rivera. She would not run for county judge, but he would pay for the signs and expenses so far and financially support her run for county clerk. Hinojosa started the whole thing by talking Rivera into running for judge after he said he was going to stay for 40 at county clerk. Its all so simple even a caveman could see it.

  2. Sylvia has no place in public office, she left the Democratic party in a mess and tried to pass the blame on to the previous administration. Well hello Sylvia, you had two years to fix things and you didn't. If she couldn't even handle running the Democratic party, how is she going to be able to handle the clerk's office?

  6. Actually, a little cyber investigation shows that the term can be presented as "cyber politics", "cyber-politics" or "cyberpolitics" ...........Must be a Dumbokrat who wrote the above.....their motto is "Ignorance is Bliss".

    1. The poster was referring to Bloggers, and they would be "cyberpoitiqueros". But a Repuglican from the Valley such as yourself, i.e. also a political pendejo, wouldn't know the difference, either.

  7. Sylvia has too much political baggage....and now is too closely aligned with the politics of Ray Ramon and Gilberto Hinojosa to be an effective leader; or to effect any positive change in local government. She ran the party offices into bankruptcy....a legacy of her lack of management skills that must be considered. As County Judge she would be a pawn to Gilberto Hinojosa and his legacy of corruption. She has no experience in government or governing and should not be running.

  10. Cameron County is not stupid, connect the dots people. Here we go and don't forget it come election time. This is the corrupt cell group that's destroying the County, Sylvia garza perez, Erin, Ernie and Norma Hernandez. The Cadrieles, Raul Salazar, Herminia Becerra, Margarita Ozuna, Politiqueras, Voter fraud, and the list goes on and on. These are the cesspool feces that need to be flush out forever.

  13. Erin, Ernie, and Norma Hernandez are crossing their fingers and using the politiqueros like Herminia Becerra to get Sylvia Garza Perez elected to County Clerk so she in return can manipulate the legal system in conjunction with the District Clerk in their favor once they are subpoena or indicted. Can someone tell these audience which candidate for District Clerk is being supported by the Hernandezes?
