Cameron County Democratic Party Wants Oscar X. Garcia to Return Monies Raised As A Democrat

From the editor:  In a press release the Cameron County Democratic Party is publicly petitioning Oscar X. Garcia, candidate for the 357th District Court, to return funds raised as a Democrat back to the local party.  Garcia, while announcing as a Democrat, filed at the last minute as a Republican.  Tough, no-nonsense, newly-installed Cameron County Democratic Treasurer, William Skaggs, pushed through recommendations recently providing for all Democratic candidates to pay a surcharge in addition to their filing fee and a portion of fundraisers to the local party, which he described candidly as "broke."

PRESS RELEASE

CAMERON COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY
AMBER MEDINA
CHAIR

OSCAR X. GARCIA NEEDS TO RETURN CAMPAIGN FUNDS RAISED WHEN HE WAS RUNNING AS A DEMOCRAT FOR THE 357TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT

After having campaigned and raised money for several months as a Democratic candidate for the 357th Judicial District Court of Cameron County, Oscar X. Garcia has decided that he is still a Republican and has filed to run for that court in the Republican primary.

Overnight, he quickly cut out the word “Democrat” from his signs in Cameron County. He should now take the same swift and aggressive action to return every cent that he raised as the card carrying Democrat that he claimed he was prior to December 9, 2013.

  1. Good thinking....Now if you apply the same logic, Joe Rivera raised money as county clerk for re-election and is now running for county judge & Sylvia Garcia raised money as a candidate for county judge and is now running for county clerk. both raised money under false claims. have them return the money too.

  2. Anyone that gave funds...more than likely gave it to the person NOT the political affiliation democrat or republican or the office they are seeking.
Same argument would go for Sylvia Perez campaigning for Judge and now is running for County Clerk.
Stop crying. And start a positive campaign.

  3. New democrat chair should look into Y. Begum endorsing Republican candidates and still allowed to run as a democrat . Did Yoli pay the New democrat chair to be on ballot and help the " Broke " party out of debt ?

    1. Was that Ernie's brother in law, the Cadriel that shot the girl in the vagina or the other Cadriel, the felon they took the test for to get him a county job? Or are both the same Cadriel?

Only in Brownsville!!! Would you get a comment like 10:01 asking the new Democrat Chair to punish Begum for NOT endorsing the vagina murderer family lol!! Fucking sickos!!

  4. What the D Party should do is drop all wishy washy candidates and those connected to fraud or questionable activities. Amber taking over the D Chair is the most refreshing and productive thing to happen to the local D party. Onward!

  6. The Dumbokratic Party is not likely to drop any "wishy washy candidates and those connected to fraud or questionable activities"...because then there would be no Dumbokratic Party. That party depends on "wishy washy, fraud and questionable activities"....to give us the corruption and stupidity we have come to expect from that Party.

  7. Why did Oscar Garcia waffle on his party of choice? Why should we trust a man who can't decide which political party offers him a better chance to be elected? Did Oscar reverse his position because the Republicans in Austin offered him a "sweet deal" or an "appointment".....to run as a Republican? We may never know. As far as I am concerned, keeping a good distance from the Dumbokratic Party of Cameron county is a smart move. The Dumbokrats cannot be trusted and continue to promote corruption in government.
