Cameron County Republican Official Dagoberto Barrera Warns Against "Back-Door" Immigration, the DREAM Act

From the editor:  Cameron County Republican leader Dagoberto Barrera never misses an opportunity to criticize President Barack Obama. True to form is Barrera's letter to the editor published October 1 in the Brownsville Herald's YOUR VOICES section.

In the note, the charismatic 83 year old accuses the administration of permitting "back-door" immigration at the expense of the economy and those who legally "wait their turn and play by the rules."

Editor,

Our president is putting America at risk and our taxpayers on the hook by allowing illegal aliens to remain in the U.S. and draw public benefits.

Our nation's integrity and our constitutional rule of law are being assaulted by a corrupt gang in the Obama regime, as they are committed to transforming America into a socialistic state, no matter the cost to taxpayers.  This is leading to granting back door amnesty to millions of illegals.

Obama is cooking the books by looking like they are enforcing our laws, when in reality they are enacting amnesty.

The White House ordered all immigration agencies to exercize "prosecutorial discretion" and "administrative measures" to fail to enforces our immigration laws.

Our illegals will cost U.S. taxpayers billions of dollars more a year over the total cost of $113 billion, despite the fact that the DREAM Act has repeatedly failed to pass Congress.

This becomes expensive for cities, counties and state governments to pay for illegals' schooling, law enforcement and health services, amounting even higher costs.

Imagine added medical services for a few million more "legalized" alien residents.

Without considering security, other quality-of-life issues, local, state, federal services to illegals are costing you and me thousands of dollars in additional taxes.  Wake up Americans, it's your money!

This rewards bad behavior, also contempt for the rule of law.

How about those who wait their turn and play by the rules to enter America legally?

It is bankrupting America to the tune of $113 billion a year.

Even talk of "amnesty" acts as a magnet for even more illegals, putting greater financial stress on our already strained state and local budgets.

This is a sleazy back-door scheme to gut our laws and put illegals on a "path to citizenship."

No back-door amnesty Obama.  No way.

  1. Because clearly, this guy's family arrived on the mayflower. Outrage against these taco vending, refried bean slopping illegals comes naturally to men who vacation at Martha's vineyard and tend their sloops in Nantucket in the summer, men like dagoberto barrera. It's not as if he's a poorly educated, highly pretentious Mexican trying desperately to emulate the gringo overlords that demonize his culture, and certainly not in heavily accented English.

  3. Mr Barrera states his case very well. What a pity others cannot state theirs without becoming petty and resorting to name calling.

    1. I suppose Mr. Barrera is not "name calling"?

  4. He sort of reminds me of the samuel jackson character from "django unchained", a slave who hates "them uppity niggers", because he is treated well by his patrician owner and tries desperately to delude himself into thinking that he is better than his own people. What an ignorant fuckwit.

  8. I was born in Mexico and have lived in Brownsville most of my life. I became a U.S. Citizen sometime in the 1980s. My family and I came to the U.S. legally. I was educated north of the Sarita check point and I returned to live in Brownsville because I simply love it. I would like to point a few simple things. First, true Americans understand and love our Republican form of government. Second, true Americans are looking for an opportunity and an even playing field. Everything else is a mental crutch that will preclude you from achievement. Open your eyes!!!!! Just because we may be Hispanic or Mexican Americans doesn't mean that we are all for illegal immigration. Illegal immigration is taking its toll amongst our schools, hospitals, local governments and many other social services in our border communities. Its not hypocrisy, its reality. Our Country is broke and we may need to return to measures of responsibility in order to regain our former status once again. Dago is right about this and if you cannot step back and see the bigger picture I feel sorry for you.

  10. There are thousands of illegal Irish wetback immigrants living and working in the Boston area. One thing you will never find is an Irish-American bitching about their presence. However, along the great Rio Grande River, the favorite pastime of many Pocho ne'er-do-wells is to bitch about their illegal kinfolks. It must be an interesting feeling for all those Pocho border patrol guys to arrest and deport their own people.

Actually, dumbass, OUR people are here legally. Plus, deportations gotta be done. Been there and done that.

    1. I would like to directly reply to your comment but it is incoherent. Who are "OUR people"? Maybe you are confused with the term Pocho, look it up. If you are going to deport illegal residents in the US, you better get an early start because there over 12 million of them and around 300,000 will be "deported" between Del Rio and Brownsville this year.

When you say "Been there done that", are you referring to being deported or to the one doing the deporting? As far as dumbass, I think you have shown yourself be a real 100% dumbass. And, I would be willing to bet a certified bi-analfabeto Pocho of the highest order.

So what should we call the rest of your comment? The rantings and the ravings of an extremely tired and pissed off old man? Who's most probably sitting on a stack of extremely painful/bleeding hemorrhoids? Well alright, then.

    3. To Jim Barton,

Do you not filter comments to your blog? I am not talking about censorship but some level of propriety. This guy Dags offers no meaningful contribution to topic at hand other than a childish scatological reference which clearly shows his deranged mental condition.

Sorry, Jim. But LOL!!! And, I guess we now have a name for the sad old man. The SCAT DUDE. Say Scat, I'm sure you've heard of it, but just so you know, I've seen commercials suggesting the use of Preparation H. Yours are too advanced, huh? Go see a physician. Try staying on this side of the border, though. Remember that ObamaCare is forthcoming.
