A Possible Reason Why The Brownsville Herald Has Avoided the Villalobos Story

It may not totally explain why the Brownsville Herald has shined so little light on the continuing Armando Villalobos story over the years.  One alert Mean Mister Brownsville reader has identified a possible contributing factor.  Laura B. Martinez, Herald reporter is listed below as a primary Villalobos supporter, endorsing his candidacy.  This may or may not have been a factor in the lack of coverage, but it is certainly worth noting.. . . . . . . 1. Look at that list of "Usual Suspects"!

  2. Valley reporters are ot real reporters. No self-respecting news person would endorse any politician. But that's Brownsville, an all-around cesspool. Plus, blame publisher Cavazos. He should have fired Laura B. Martinez on the spot.

  3. This is a list of people who work for Villalobos and that should make them suspect. Then you have his local attorney, Norton Colvin and the Rollins couple....part of the Colvin family. The people on this list know Mando is guilty or they had the eyes shut while Mando was doing the duty deed...the Democratic deed...corruption. Then there is Rene Oliviera....just more sleeze.

  4. Villalobos has done far more damage to our community than just let a murderer go free, he is to blame for all the rampant corruption that is affecting our everyday lives, i hope he pays for it too

    1. I agree with this. The indictment list of charges named Villalobos the 'kingpin' of the racketeers.

  6. To be considered sophisticated citizens, Mexicans in the Valley need to deal with their corrupt leaders. Until they do that, they are all suspect. In Brownsville, everybody who kisses ass gets a pass, from child support deadbeats to drunks to elected officials. Dare to be great. Deal with Villalobos in a manner that all see a change. Hang him and let it be known throughout the local geography that losers will no longer lead the populace.

  7. The Herald isn't a "fair and balanced" publication. They pander to their advertisers and do no investigative work. They want stories handed to them, as we see with UTB. This list of local characters.....doesn't mean they will vote for Villalobos, it is just a list published by his attorneys to make the citizens think he is honest. He is not honest. All the folks on this list who are running for office, should be defeated for pandering to corruption.

  8. Adela Garza is spending thousands of dollars to wash of the UTB/TSC fiasco with negative advertising on the paper so she is probably the next one to get endorsed by The Brownsville Herald. Her daughters are flaunting a Beeville Newspaper "endorsement" on her "fan page" - she must be spending thousands of dollars on newspaper ads there too! They have got to go. Adela Garza supported Villalobos through 2 campaigns and even had him film commercials at her house. Wasn't her kid working in his office too? What is it with these wanna be "leaders"?
