While the individual members represented by B.U.C., Brownsville Unions Coalition, work daily on the front lines in our community's public and fire safety, emergency rescue, education of our children and handling the flow of goods at the port, the coalition itself practices a high degree of public service. On any given weekend B.U.C. representatives may be found hosting barbecues, sponsoring rides, working during their free time to fund good causes for local citizens and veterans.
B.U.C. also works to ensure effective leadership and voter awareness in the community by holding periodic campaign forums. The individual unions take seriously the recommendation of candidates, respecting the votes by their members of candidates who will best represent their interests. Since the coalition is not an autocracy or dictatorship, it does not attempt to undermine or overrule the preference of a particular union. Democratic principles are always followed.
they do a wounderfull job.... always helping the community and serving the community.

ReplyDeleteAll the working class deserve to be recognized and respected for what they do. They work hard at what they do and take pride. These so called groups that do nothing for the community but tell lies are a disgrace to those of us that get up day after day to go work to support our families. All they do is sit on their computer 24/7 to see what people write to twist the truth and tell lies. I support the working class. ReplyDeleteThe B.U.C. is it's own lobby organization. Their public service activities are intended to insure that their chosen candidates for office are elected. They want officials who will vote for B.U.C. issues. They are lobbyists.....promoting their onwn interests....not necessarily those of the public.
ReplyDeleteThe B.U.C. can no longer deliver the votes as they are falling apart. Creating voter awareness is not done simply with barbecues, but more so with professional forums, blockwalking and polling.

DeleteBUC is no longer credible. They used to be an endorsement that candidates were proud to have. Now, it's almost the kiss of death. That is all thanks to Marcos Longoria and Rigo Bocanegra. They have lost sight of the real goal of endorsing credible candidates, it is about "who will give them the sweetest deal".

Secondly, B.U.C. doesn't operate like Brownsville Cheezmeh where one man picks the candidates. B.U.C. officials have to honor the choices of the individual unions.
The real world is quite different from Cheezopia.
