There's a reason you don't send the U.S. military into what starts as a peaceful demonstration against government policy.  It escalates things, makes a situation infinitely worse, but that's exactly what our mindless Commander-in-Chief wants.

Donald Trump's wet dream is Los Angeles 2025 becoming Watts 1965.  He'll keep sending in National Guard until he gets the escalation his loveless heart craves.  Trump is the fat, white cop getting into the face of a black or brown man until he hears the word "pendejo" or "honky" to justify his body block of the dude into his Crown Vic police unit.

ICE honcho Tom Homan and White Supremacist Stephen Miller are hoping to get their rocks off too if they can just see Hollywood burn, while 2028 Presidential candidate, California Governor Gavin Newsom, and L.A. Mayor Karen Bass go viral on YouTube.  Newsom's "tough guy" BS doesn't help either.

Those of us of a certain age saw the Watts neighborhood riots on black and white TV in '65, violent confrontations between L.A. police and residents that will have its 60th anniversary August 11.

The shit started with the arrest of Marquette Frye by a California Highway Patrol officer on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.  Maybe Frye resisted arrest, but certainly excessive force was used to subdue him, resulting in 34 deaths, 1,000 injuries and more than $40 million worth of destroyed property. Hundreds of buildings and whole city blocks burned to the ground as firefighters had no police protection to do their job. If we get a repeat, Trump gets his orgasm.

At least a couple U.S. senators see the utter folly of Trump's approach, an approach he actually wants to backfire:

Senator Alex Padilla: “Couldn’t agree [with the Governor] more. Using the National Guard this way is a completely inappropriate and misguided mission. The Trump Administration is just sowing more chaos and division in our communities.”

Senator Adam Schiff: “The Trump Administration’s calling on the California National Guard without the authorization of the Governor is unprecedented. This action is designed to inflame tensions, sow chaos, and escalate the situation. If the Guard is needed to restore peace, the Governor will ask for it. But continuing down this path will erode trust in the National Guard and set a dangerous precedent for unilateral misuse of the Guard across the country. Violence must stop, and we need to keep the focus on protecting fundamental rights. There is nothing President Trump would like more than a violent confrontation with protestors to justify the unjustifiable — invocation of the Insurrection Act or some form of martial law.”

California Governor Gavin Newsom accused US President Donald Trump of treating US National Guard troops with "disrespect" after images emerged of soldiers sleeping on the floor in cramped conditions following their deployment to Los Angeles amid ongoing protests.

Newsom claimed that the Trump administration dispatched more than 2,000 troops to the city “without fuel, food, water or a place to sleep,” escalating a fierce standoff between the Democratic governor and the President.

"You sent your troops here without fuel, food, water or a place to sleep," Newsom wrote on X. "Here they are — being forced to sleep on the floor, piled on top of one another."

Following Trump's decision to move an additional 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles, Newsom claimed that only 300 troops have been deployed so far, while "the rest are sitting, unused, in federal buildings without orders."

"The first 2,000? Given no food or water," he tweeted, adding, "This isn’t about public safety. It’s about stroking a dangerous President’s ego. This is Reckless. Pointless. And Disrespectful to our troops."

The governor also released two photos showing National Guard members lying shoulder to shoulder on the ground, apparently inside a government building.

Meanwhile, Trump gets exactly what he wants~turning a demonstration into a full scale riot with his mindless escalation.

  1. A witness stated that the ICE agents started the violence. The witness was waiting in car, waiting for ICE to direct traffic... ICE were busy grabbing the illegal aliens then one ICE agent saw the motorists and sent gas their way. The people in the cars could not breathe and they got out of the cars and some of them were on the ground unable to see, they recorded the actions of the ICE agents, there are videos. It was ICE that started the attacks on innocent bystanders.

  2. Trump loves this turmoil. He will declare martial law and suspend all elections. Trump's followers will support him. He wants some people to be killed in the process: soldiers, civilians, etc He doesn't care who it is, but he wants blood in the streets to control the country.
