Attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans kills 15, injures 35

Donald Trump has blamed both the New Orleans terrorist attack and the explosion of a Tesla Cybertruck in Las Vegas on Joe Biden's "open border" policies:  

“With the Biden ‘Open Border’s Policy’ I said, many times during Rallies, and elsewhere, that Radical Islamic Terrorism, and other forms of violent crime, will become so bad in America that it will become hard to even imagine or believe . . . . . That time has come, only worse than ever imagined. Joe Biden is the WORST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICA, A COMPLETE AND TOTAL DISASTER,” he added. “What he and his group of Election Interfering ‘thugs’ have done to our Country will not soon be forgotten! MAGA.”

What Trump chooses to overlook is the fact that acts of terrorism in the United States come primarily, not from our southern border, but from U.S. citizens with military experience.

The person arrested in the New Orleans terrorism incident, killing 15 and injuring 35, is Shamsud Din Jabbar, 42, an Army veteran born in Texas.

The owner of the Tesla Cybertruck that exploded in Las Vegas. killing 1 and injuring 7, was Matthew Livelsberger, an Army soldier from Colorado.

Most of us remember Timothy McVeigh, the perpetrator of the Oklahoma City bombing, killing 167, injuring 685.  McVeigh was also an Army veteran, who, like Jabbar, became radicalized. 

The simple fact is that our country has suffered more deadly terrorism at the hands of American-born citizens who are military veterans than from any people crossing our southern border.
