Elizabeth May, Canada's House of Commons |
From the editor: It's taken a while for world leaders to catch up to the ineptitude of Donald Trump, but, in recent days, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and Panama President Jose Raul Milino have both responded to Trump's foolish statements that attempt to infringe on their country's sovereignty.
Now, Elizabeth May, a member of Canada's House of Commons, totally schools Trump over his uneducated comments about Canada, explaining, first of all, that Wayne Gretsky can't "run" for Prime Minister as Trump so cluelessly suggested, as well as dealing with Trump's braindead notion that Canada become the U.S.'s 51st state:
President-Elect Donald Trump |
“Mr. Trump, before making public pronouncements that Wayne Gretzky should run for Prime Minister, give yourself a briefing on the nature of parliamentary democracy… We don't get to pick and choose among our billionaire friends for who gets a seat at the cabinet table.
I suggest to Trump find one of his grandchildren's school books, and look at the year 1776, which may explain a few things to him about why our systems of government are different.
You think we want to be the 51st state? Nah, but maybe California would like to be the 11th province… How about it? California, Oregon, Washington? How about it? Want to put a referendum to your citizens... Have we got a deal for you? This is what you get, free health care. Universal free health care. No more one year olds who suddenly fall off the Medicaid list and their parents are in the news because they're trying to do a Go Fund Me so they can get their daughter to a doctor.
Those gun laws that your congress is too afraid to pass because of the national gun lobby, we already got our strict gun laws…The U.S. gun fatality rate is 5.9 per 100,000 people, compared to Canada’s 0.8 per 100,000… That’s because we have strict gun laws.
What else? We will take Bernie Sanders off your hands, proud new Canadian citizen of the great province of Vermont.
Canada is a sovereign nation full of proud Canadians. We don’t aspire to be the 51st state. If it was a joke, it was never funny, and it ends now."
Yet, Canada is getting stricter with their visas. Some Canadians are saying "Make Canada Great again" The Canadians also have increased their security along the Canada-America border, to keep illegal aliens from entering their country when Trump starts deportation.
ReplyDeleteNow, Honduras President Castro says they will no longer cooperate with U.S. military if Trump goes through with mass deportation.
ReplyDeleteYou're such a clueless moron, Jim. You actually think Trump gives a shit about the inner workings of the Canadian system of government. Yes, you do run for prime minister by being the leader of your party in Canada. As leader you are the face of the party and when people vote for their representative in parliament they are voting for that party leader to be prime minister. Maybe you should move to Canada. I hear the health system is better there, you old fart.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind words. No, I don't know if Trump "gives a shit" about anything but himself. He certainly has no love or respect for this country. As for your suggestion that I move to Canada, I've considered it as I'd be a citizen immediately upon establishing residence as my mother was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta as shown on my birth certificate. On my 16th birthday, with my newly awarded drivers licence in hand, I drove my '59 VW from Seattle, straight up to British Columbia, going east as far as Penticton before going south back into the U.S. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police had a word with me about my speed, so I exercised some caution for the balance of the Canadian part of my trip, with a greater appreciation of the difference between KPH and MPH. . . . .
