Donald Trump feels he has a "mandate" to fulfill his campaign promise to immediately deport our nation's 13M immigrants not here legally.
These "vermin" have "poisoned the blood" of our country, Trump says, are "conquering" our communities and have brought crime, inflation and compromised elections.
Cameron County, once considered a Democratic stronghold, was actually more pro-Trump in the 2024 election than the country as a whole; 52.4% to 50.6%.
While the effects of such a mass deportation can be viewed from a purely human or legal angle, my thoughts right now are focused on the financial cost of such an endeavor even though Trump is saying that there's "no price tag" on such.
Current deportation estimate costs run at $315B the first year, $969B over ten years. That's a lot of money, especially since the current annual budget for the Department of Justice is only $37.5B.
At least 30,000 additional I.C.E. officers would need to be hired and current I.C.E. detention capacity would need to be increased 24 fold.
Also needing consideration are the current contributions made by undocumented immigrants into our country's so-called entitlement programs as those monies would be lost with a mass deportation.
In 2022 illegal immigrants paid $46.8B in federal taxes, $29.3B in state taxes, $22.6B into Social Security and $5.7B to Medicare; $104.4B in total.
So, to the first year cost of mass deportation, $315B, we add this lost revenue, $104.4B for a total first year cost of $419.4B. (Few find mass deportation to be logistically possible in a single year with some speculating it would require twenty years.)
This past Thursday Texas-based U.S. District Court Judge J. Campbell blocked Biden's "Keep Families Together"initiative designed to ease a path of citizenship for those undocumented married to U.S. citizens.
Trump has also promised to revoke the legal status given to immigrants from Haiti and Venezuela and re-implement policies like the Muslim ban from his first term.
Texas Governor Greg "Razor-wire" Abbott, a devout Christian, who's already spent $11B of taxpayer money on his Project Lone Star, says he's eager for the State of Texas to join Trump in his mass deportation efforts.
None of this is going to happen. You are so clueless it is mind-numbing. Stop being Biden and being angry because Latinos and blacks do not agree with you.
ReplyDeleteI'm neither clueless nor angry. You're having some difficulty with reading comprehension.
DeleteI talked to some people that voted for Trump and they are clueless. They have dark skin but they do not accept that Trump is going after them too. They think because they voted for Trump they will get a free pass. These people do not like women, minorities etc Why? Because they are hardworking, have goals and are smart about their finances.
DeleteSorry that people are attacking you but some people here are not thinking and can not see the big picture.
Yes, this is going to happen. The millionaires, the billionaires, the Old Republicans will help with the monies. I do not think the countries of origins will come and help their citizens and transport them back to their countries. They could do it, but they won't. Trump has to do it because he has to keep his followers happy. This is also the objective of the people that got him to power. They need to control the country, make the White population grow and no more help to dark skinned people. Europeans are welcome (white ones only).
ReplyDeleteI am not a very religious person but I know that Americans know their Bible and since they have the support of the Pope, they will try their best to deport the illegal aliens, the violent people, the rebels, and revoke the permits of people that come from poor countries with grace and care. Right now 75% of people trying to cross into Mexico are not doing it. They are going back. The American Embassy in Mexico posted a notice stating that all proceedings are fine: visas, passports etc but I think the government will soon stop issuing visas for a couple of years. Canada is also getting ready to stop the illegal aliens from crossing their border. They are all getting ready for the mass deportation. They have also started a denaturalization program and the government is trying to figure out how to handle all this. It is not Trump, it is the Old Republicans that want to clean house to protect the Whites. It is their country and they have a right, but it will bring a great punishment from God if the process is not done correctly. I do believe that God is love but God is also a punisher. Let us all pray for the USA, the deported and the people that will do all this work.
ReplyDeleteBrownsville Observer I have seen how the illegal aliens are sent back to Matamoros. Their legs and hands are tied and they are given a plastic bag with their belongings. No suitcases, no cars, no backpacks. The women are released first. Then an officer walks to the bridge and looks to see if the women are far away in the distance. Then the officer returns and they start releasing the men. This is done in public view, but nobody pays attention to this process. It is a moment of shame for the illegal aliens. The white buses move to the airport, to the bridge and nobody suspects anything. I always thought it was the shuttle bus of UTRGV but then I saw the buses at Boca Chica and I figured out it was for the transportation of illegal aliens. The President of Mexico has spoken to Trump and Trump is going to meet with Biden this coming Wednesday, and probably Biden will implore for a fair treatment for the illegal aliens as they are returned to their countries. Biden is Catholic.
ReplyDeleteIf the Mexican nationals go to the Consulate or Embassy and tell them they are going back to Mexico they will get: transportation to Mexico, information about jobs, all necessary documents, food and shelter and voucher to get back home. They will make arrangements for you to get your belongings back to Mexico. When you arrive at Matamoros, they take your picture for safety. To keep an eye on you that you arrived and later they will check to see if you got to your destination. Some men disappear on their travel back home. The Christmas Holiday, many illegal aliens will not return to the USA. They are going to exit on their own terms.
