Donald Trump addressing evangelicals

A couple odd, inexplicable, obviously inaccurate, statements Donald Trump has made on the campaign trail several times, caught my attention.

First of all, to a group of evangelicals, Trump said:  "Get out and vote just this time.  You won't have to do it anymore.  Four more years, it will be fine. You won't have to vote my beautiful Christians."

Then, to Fox News personalities, Trump stated:  "We don't need the votes.  I have so many votes."

Rachel Maddow

Rachel Maddow
, one of our country's most astute, insightful commentators, was a bit flabbergasted at Trump's strange remarks:  "We love to vote.  That's part of our democracy.  We want to vote about everything," she said.

Maddow was more concerned, however, about Trump's claim that he doesn't need his supporters to vote for him:  "He doesn't think he needs to win the election to take power.  He thinks something other than votes is going to determine whether he gets back in the White House."

Justin Glawe
Adding some context to Trump's contention that he won't need votes to get back into the Oval Office, was a guest on a recent Rachel Maddox Show, independent journalist Justin Glawe, who's written for The Guardian, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Daily Beast, Rolling Stone, among others.

In his research, Glawe discovered that 70 pro-Trump election deniers held critical positions in county election departments in the swing states, 22 of them already refusing to certify elections.

Since one tiny county not certifying its votes can prevent an entire state's certification, this positioning of pro-Trump election deniers in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Pennsylvania is alarming.

Election Attorney Marc Elias explained:  "Republicans are counting on not just that they can disrupt the election in big counties.  They are counting on the fact that if you don't certify several small counties, you cannot certify statewide results."

The above may indeed explain why Donald Trump evidently doesn't think he needs your vote to again become President.  He has his minions in place to overturn the 2024 election, not by insurrection as his followers attempted January 6, 2021, but by not certifying votes in critical states.

  1. Here in Brownsville, the Republicans get into the voting places and claim the machines do not work....and they tinker and shake them....and they do not work....until one hour later.... I called Remi Garza about this situation...but still the nerve of the Republicans to stall the election process. The election officials are trained. Also the Republicans have long faces and intimidate all voters and voting officials.... be strong and defend Democracy here in Brownsville.
